The exception to the girls comic quality rule is Sugar Jones. Fuck sakes, Pat. -Ralph Not everything Pat did was a home run... It reads more like Current Pat rather than Past Pat. His work on Concrete Surfer is decent though. I do like how Rebellion is pumping out all these old UK strip collections though. Most of it is completely new to me (a lot I have never heard of) and UK comics history has been woefully underserved in collected editions. -Ralph

It's Bisley, I have to. Given the amount of Star Trek novels you have bought, you cannot judge me.

#1 of the new Battle Action arrived. Thin, isn't it? Only two stories. Doesn't feel like much. At the UK newsstand price I wonder how this will do.

Balls. I forgot about that but I didn't see it in Smiths this morning. I saw that other new comic but didn't have my glasses with me to see the tiny tiny price on the front. I see the Treasury are doing a 2024 annual with three new stories and plenty of reprint. I hope it's a big book for the £25 price tag but that sounds like a goer for Christmas.

Just been reading Battle Action issue 4. I wish this was an ongoing, it's been the best comic read I've had for a long time. I'm getting dangerous urges now for a Battle collection to go alongside the 2000AD/Eagle ones.

Like the 2022 Special, it's generally been good with the exception of the excrement of Dredger.
Just stick to Battle, Rebellion. Leave the Action pish alone.

Yes, Dredger doesn't really fit and that was a poor story. Only low point. I am so taken with Keith Burns' war art, it's just fabulous. The Johnny Red story in the Meg is amazing.

The Sarge volume 1 is a bit tricky to read. Lots of double-page spreads but room isn't left in the gutters so impossible to read a lot of the word balloons/tell what is going on as they disappear into the fold.

Not good. I find that with a lot of books. The art gets ruined.
I'm currently half way through the Major Eazy book, really enjoying it.
