Monster Fun going monthly from June. I've generally found it to be a tad mediocre but well done Rebellion on growing an audience for a new title in the current market.

I bought the first year. That said, my son has just seemingly decided he wants to read more comics. Hmm.

Well that seems a positive.
I am not the target audience for Monster Fun, but too little of it is actually funny. I won't be resubbing. The art is generally good but too much of the writing is from Tooth writers and that is a very different discipline. I read The Beano from time to time and that does make me laugh.
The best strip in Monster Fun is Leopard of Lime Street...the one story that is not a joke strip. It feels like it was wandered in from a comic more like The Pheonix.
I thought the 'girls comic' specials were very good and it is a shame an ongoing title didn't come from them.

I agree with The Doctor - my daughter *did* enjoy those (Misty, Tammy&Jinty) , but can't be bothered with Monster Fun.

Picked up the first Steel Claw book ages ago and finally getting round to it now I have the hobby room properly organised.
It's great fun. Pretty mad.

There's a drinking game to be had when reading Trigan Empire. Take a shit every time the narration shouts: "AND THEN...IT HAPPENED!".
You'll be hee-hawed within a hundred pages.

Is the story complete? Will you actually find out? I can't remember if that one was in the humble bundle, I may have it.
Hibernia reckon their collection of 70s Valiant strip 'Sergeant Strong' will be available this week.

It is 'Book One' but as it came out in 2018 and a 'Book Two' has not been released or solicited, I guess sales tanked.

Finally got around to reading Charlie's War. Been mainlining it the last 2 days. Blimey. It is good. I'd only read bits of it before.
Shame Rebellion haven't reprinted the material after Pat left in an additional volume. Maybe it's not as good but it would be nice to be able to read it. Has the end of the strip ever been reprinted?

As I make my way through a backlog of Treasury books bought in previous sales, three things currently stand out to me:
-The consistency and quality of the 'girls comics' stuff is superb. 'Fran of the Floods' in particular is BRILLIANT. -'Wildcat' was a deeply shit comic. No wonder I barely remember it. -The repeated meme in 'Trigan Empire' of: "AND THEN...IT HAPPENED!" gets me giggling every time.

Fran of the Floods was in the Treasury humble bundle. I'll give it a go after the news.
