That said, a Black Beth one shot and a Monster Fun Halloween book alongside the compulsory Sci Fi Special? That's disappointing. I was really hoping for another Action and another Battle. Those two were great, Battle especially.

Realised while away that the second 50% off graphic novels voucher I had for the 2000AD shop was about to expire, so I decided to make use of it. Come home to find Trigan Empire Vol 3, Major Eazy Vol 1, Death Squad and the new Deluxe Stainless Steel Rat books waiting. Trigan Empire I was collecting anyway, but I think I've decided to go for anything from Battle too.

The Angry Planet and The Indestructible Man were vols 1-2. Volume 4 will be Sargeant Strong. Volume 5 will be Timequake.
Always worth keeping an eye on Hubernia. They put good stuff out. In June, they have a Battle Action Comic Archive coming out.

Yes, that adventure special and the Eagle library books are the only things left on my Eagle list now. I'm not too worried about that one as it's reprint stuff, but if I come across it I'll get it.

I only have print copies of two of the Hibernia Comic Archive series so I thought I'd take advantage of their weekend offer to get digital copies of all six. Wasn't sure I'd read them all but having just downloaded them and had a flick through, I'm glad I did. Plenty of British comic history to explore here.

Took a dip into the books I bought from the shop sale this afternoon and read Battle's INVASION 1984! Really enjoyed it. Not the best Grant/Wagner story ever written and it's pretty clear the end was rushed to finish it off, but well worth a read to experience how STORM FORCE take on an alien invasion.

This is why I have taken the tack of reading old ones. Although it has to be said I think on balance the 2022 2000ad sci fi Special beats the 1982 one on quality of strip content. 1982 wins on variety and size but does have a few reprints in.

It's been 16th August for a while now. But I can see the 2000as shop is now saying 1st September. That's not too bad, it's no Marvel Universe Update Omnibus yet

The Tooth shop charges pre-orders when they are made, not when titles are released. You can still use your voucher for those.
