TF part works #2 consists of Spotlights Shockwave, Soundwave, Nightbeat, Hot Rod and then Stormbringer. Less impresses this time as they have set the pages on a big black background as the format is the US format on UK pages. Still, good stories and repro looks nice.

I was expecting it to be the whole first series because it said Spotlight issues. But notice it missed one out (but they did have series 2 one in & not series 1 which missed 2 out) Maybe Simon Furman wanted himself in print.
I wonder if Magazine World in Grimsby may have it in - they have ever single magazine released in the UK but whsmith no longer exists in grimsby it closed 6 months back & it was a huge store.

So it's replaced Sixshot for Soundwave? That's an odd call.
I guess Soundwave fits Stormbringer better but still... Would that have been a call Furman made, do you think?

Does seem like a decision made with purpose. It doesn't match the original publication order, or the way the individual issues were reordered for the 'Complete' hardbacks.

But Simon is one of the builders controlled by Soundwave

The IDW run is a lot more flexible than Marvels so I can see them adjusting things to best fit the individual volumes.
Or maybe Furman disagreed with IDWs reorder for the complete hardbacks so is fixing it.

Black backgrounds? Was that not how Stormbringer was originally published anyway or does ny memory cheat?

For most of the pages I believe so.

Aha. That would explain it. One or two of the pages look 'flat' in terms of colour reproduction but on the whole good.

What creator review is in #2? I expect it to be Nick due to his first work. Don would be in DW collection

According to the packaging for part 2 part 3 will feature the first batch of the colourised black and white strips.

We have been told US #56-61 is in it - so they must have range from #228-249 in it too ?

I have no idea about motorway services.
I asked at the counter about ordering it locally rather than via company to see what they would say about expecting issues etc. I was to for Transformers they expect to receive up to "about #8" for shelf use then it needs to be on order. Up to this point they need a £30 deposit for ordering but not after. No indication it was just a test at present.

We have been told US #56-61 is in it - so they must have range from #228-249 in it too ? It's slightly earlier than that--the first two B&W stories. I suspect Furman, who has always been keen on seeing that era in colour (it's partly why the Titan B&W books were so shitty, he wanted to do "Proper" colour versions but alas...), was determined that even if it didn't go beyond the test run at least the ones drawn for colour would finally be seen that way and fudged things a little to include them (I suspect the Bob issues they ran alongside wouldn't be considered strong enough for this trial run). I wouldn't be totally surprised if at least a large chunk of the B&W stuff is simply contained within its own one or two books (Earthforce would lend itself to it)rather than trying to work out how to place it properly chronologically alongside the American material without oddities like having a massive gap between parts of Matrix Quest that are only filled by B&W and so on.

Its every two issues so if you ordered before issue 1 was released and they decide to post out during the test period it should be in the next week or two. Maybe. Or not.
I hope they do post to subscribers during the test period. I want a good look at them and plenty of time to decide if I want to commit to the full run or not.

I'm sure the subs started at #1. Also with #3 was looking at keeping the stories along the same time frame. ie Survivors would be in another book, that then leaves Aspects of Evil which should be later on printed so that just then leaves the stuff that runs along Simon US stuff - like Thunderwing becoming leader. Anyone in Manchest happened to look at newsagents along the main road in A664 from m60 to NEC printworks. Just checking if can park up near that newsagents on church st
I can park up in toysrus car park then just run over to the newsagent seeing its just about 10 minutes away

I've got back the same mangled non-sensical email as everybody else saying that I am subscribing from #1 despite saying #3 on the subscription form. I am also being called 'Ltd Gavin' ...rather than ' Dr Gavin...' - hardly encouraging.
Will see if anything comes off my account over the next few weeks but will keep buying in stores until then in case. I doubt they will send out anything to subscribers until it switches from the test tonreal period and they are just guaging shop sales and subscription numbers currently.

I have recieved what I assume are the first two issues of the actual subscription this morning. No changes to any of the cover or spine art that I can see.

They have mixed up the inside cover art for the two volumes though. Stormbringer's is in T:2006 and vice versa. And the actual Stormbringer issues seem shrunken even further down from American size.

Thanks to M and Andu I now have the first two. They both have the Target: 2006 endpapers!
I must now fill in the enclosed survey. An upcoming issue is 'Prime Detective'. A typo of 'Prime Directive'?
