Despite the fact he is holding a pair of jeans in his hands? "Look Ralph, I've got these Jeans now, they're my cover to go wandering through the lingerie section en route to the tills!" Now you come to mention it, Andu did wander through that section! -Ralph

It wouldn't surprise me at all if there wasn't a dealer's room beyond Hasbro selling their own stuff. This is Hasbro putting on an 'experience' weekend to promote their toys. They'll have exclusives because they know they're a draw, but they won't want other dealers diluting their own sales.
They're inviting fans to be involved in their new direction, but they're not going to pander to their needs. They're going for a different, bigger audience.

Are they going to do a toy set for the new convention? I think they could do a Predacon update set for general release then repaint set for a convention & also do a SDCC Marvel cross over set.
If this would be better in it's own thread - wish list for a convention set, but we could talk about a convention toy set.
Razorclaw, Rampage, Divebomb, Tantrum, Headstrong.
Beast Wars set convention repaint set - Leo Convoy, cheetor, airrazor, tigatron, rhinox. The Predacons set - Nemesis Breaker, ravage, catgut, windthing, , .
Marvel set - Kraven, , Vulture, , Rhino.

I'd assume any Hascon exclusive would be similar or shared with SDCC

Coming to this thread a little late, what I gather from a quick glance is that the convention exclusives will include Hasbro brand-related lingerie? My Little Pouchy? Or did I get the wrong end of the stick.
...
That's not a stick.

The official 50th anniversary Trek con had hardly any stalls at it a few weeks ago, especially compared to the 50th Who one from a few years prior. Which basically meant large periods of nothing to do between talks or queueing to meet famous people (Jeffrey Combs!) as there was pretty much nothing else there.

Ah. An announcement video that does not give potential customers details of your event! What was the point of that??? 'We will raise brand awareness of our thing but without really saying what our thing is!'
I always find this strategy of advertising to be especially hopeless!

The ticket prices for the event are utterly mad. Pay $600 for the super ticket which does not guarantee entry to all the panels and you must turn up 40 mins early (!) for a chance to get in anyway.
Also mad is that attendees may not bring their own items for guests to sign: all that can be signed is official Hascon merch bought at the con and a receipt may need to be produced to prove it.
I am on a different continent so the point for me is moot. Looks pish though.
I am amused that the main guest is Stan Lee, who is of course best known for his Hasbro association. Er.

On the Hascon website at the bottom is Marvel. So they must have him there for that
In addition, there will be activities inspired by several iconic Disney properties, including Disney Princess, Frozen, Elena of Avalor, Moana and Descendants 2, as well as Star Wars and Marvel's Avengers, Spider-Man and Guardians of the Galaxy. From movie props and costumes on display, to hands-on fun through art tutorials and more, these areas will be can't-miss destinations during the show.

A couple of people were thinking of going including me (at the time flights to New York were under £300), then they announced the prices, the ridiulous rules and the lame events and even lamer guest list. And everyone was, Hahahaha no!
In fairness Stan Lee, Peter Cullen and Frank Welker has significantly upgraded the guest list*, though as Ive been lucky enough to meet all three already its not that big a draw still.
But even if it was if Im getting autographs I want them on something personal to me. Not some crappy Hascon poster or whatever else they provide.
*at the time it was Chewbacca Mom, one MLP voice actor and some of the Transformers design team. Woohoo!

But even if it was if Im getting autographs I want them on something personal to me. Not some crappy Hascon poster or whatever else they provide. Where the policy will backfire is when kids bring stuff personal to them (which they will especially if they have been to other cons) and are told that the con rules are that guests won't sign them. Adults will moan but cope but that could upset kids. It's a 'fanmily' event FFS! Though the prices don't seem very family friendly anyway. -Ralph

I'm not angry about it. As I said, I am on a different continent so was never in a position to go, but I do shake my head from afar at the pricing and policies announced.
They're also making a Fun Pub-like mistake by having high prices but not announcing what the exclusives are. This is an expensive show. Advertise properly why folk should start putting aside wads of cash to come. Don't assume crowds will automatically turn up, especially for a first year of the event.
Some amusement can be had from the deeply painful promo video done for it by some of the TF design team. It's on the TF FB page. I have no clue how to show it here.
