They better be improved quality if they're charging more. Voyager Slog was awful, covered in terrible plastic and flimsy rubber.
The Deluxes were fine but I didn't pay full price for them.

We'll find out when they come out. We'll also find out if deluxes are £25 across the board or just Argos being silly.
I look forward to one of you falling on the sword to let the rest of us know!

I will, I want to see what they've done to the Dinos. I reckon they will be £25, but then get discounted when they don't sell. We know the US price is $20 so they aren't going to be less than £22 because that seems to be how it is at the moment. Generations Leaders are $45 which equates to £50 here. If we've guessed right what Hasbro are doing, they'll be the same price as the six inch Black Series figures, which are what in TRU now? £22?

I wish the dinobots were getting retooled to remove the Michael Bay "extra."
I mean I get the aesthetic from AoE: They were the dragons to the Autobots' knights. As well as being dragon-knights in and of themselves. But this go round the decepticons have actual dragons, and Dinosaur vs Dragon is way cooler than anything going on in this franchise, ever.
I mean would it have been horrible to get rid of Grimlock's pointless horns, or give slug(?) a useful mouth? Why does scorn need three sails? (I forgive the wrong anatomy because when he was designed and made in AoE, he was actually completely correct to our understanding, though the new mold should be correct)
And I don't care about consistancy. These movies can't even hold consistancy and continuity within themselves, let alone between movies.

Do you mean TKL leaders?

Sorry Doc, I was talking about the Generations ones just as a comparison of inflated prices here. You are right we heard the TLK Leaders are $60, but as you say we don't know what that will be here. We do know that a $45 toy costs us £50 in TRU, or £55 from the import shops. Or indeed £25 in TKMaxx or £35 when Smyths want shot of them.
Either way, if that Leader Megatron turns out to be as impressive in hand as the reveal at Toyfair made it look, I shall have one!

I'd given up all mainline figures, but that Leader Megatron may have to join my collection

Yes I do. Bad typo! -Ralph I figured that was a typo, a horrible miscalculation, or else Hasbro had suddenly started thinking they shat pure gold.

Just seen the toys are out in the US. So is the Optimus one just the same toys from TF4 like Grimlock? Barricade looks like a repaint of Prowl. That Bumblebee toy is awful. Hound one is good with having the weapons on the back

Somebody had a go at faking up Onslaught movie toy but most sites have taken it down now. Surely Hasbro must be designing a toy for next year release if they do the Movie line for 2 years.

So they are out today - but is this UK & US? I've looked in 2 Smyths & not seen any toys yet, but be picking up CW toys.

Saw TLK toys in Kingston's TRU this morning.
The packaging does the Voyagers no favours as it's only slightly bigger than the deluxe size.

Also doesn't look that premium. I was sort of excited for boxed Deluxes, but it's a bit more of the same. I still think that white band with 'TRANSFORMERS' down the side looks cheap, shame that's their line branding!

Why is V Grimlock on the most wanted toy list 2017? You can get it 3 years ago by dipping that toy in silver paint & be cheaper too

Just found the wave one Deluxes/Voyagers in tesco. If I wasn't heading to Birmingham tomorrow I'd have partaken of a Dinobot for weekend fun. £22/30. Without one in hand I can't tell if they're any better finished or not. The colours look more collectable figure than toy, which is the intention I suppose, but there didn't seem to be much more to them than the last releases.

I mentioned this in another thread, but the deluxe Sqweeks toys is absolutely great fun (if you ignore what you are paying for it!)

Ive seen the toy and, despite my hatred of the character and everything it stands for, it does look like fun but the money for it is ridiculous. I'll hold off until it's on sale.

The plastic on the one-step changers and larger Turbo Changers must be touched to be believed. Feels even cheaper and lighter than before. KO quality!

Saw Barricade in person yesterday, and do realy like the look of him. BUt i'm not paying £23-odd for him. Hopefully by the time of TFN dealers will be trying to get rid of him for sensible money.

I would say hold off on full-price for these. I expect them to be on discount by the time the film comes out. I do fancy Deluxe Barricade and Leader Megatron but not at full-price!

Andu crumbled before my eyes and bought the Voyager Optimus. Perfectly decent movie toy (though not as good as a TR toy) but ok. Nice paint apps and I do like the scabbard for the sword. In no way is it a £33 toy though. Should be £20 at the very most. I would not pay more!

Forgot to mention the packaging. We have speculated here that the large price hikes may be in part because the toys are in 'collector' packaging. Sadly this is not the case. The boxes are flimsy and still have multiple languages on them. No character bios or collector cards chucked in. There is nothing about the packaging that implies 'premium'. Feels quite cheap in hand, actually. We just have a simple case of price gouging, sadly.
I still plan on getting Voyager Prime, Leader Megs and Deluxe Barricade but when they are on sale. Very soon I imagine.
Oh and wave 2 of Tiny Turbo Changers!

I was intending to buy Slash but bought a Gnaw instead. I need the Dinos but can wait. I do remember though that with AoE wave two came just as quick as it will this time, and those early figures like Scorn had gone before the sales started.

Purely speculation on my part, but I would assume wave 1 is about until at least when the movie comes out?
