Ouch! Birmingham should not be expensive! It's Birmingham! Whatever happened to the £20 death cave?? Rape Cave, not Death Cave. I don't know, we're all to scared to go back and I can't remember the chain's real name... Was it the eTap that's now an Ibis Budget?

How much are hotel rooms? I did regret leaving early last time, but mostly because I missed Andy getting drunk. If he is not drinking this year, there is no chance I might miss a bright pink fountain (it's a bit like missing the Northern Lights) You weren't in that room! You didn't see the Pink Energon! Though sober Andu this year due to marathon training does mean that Ralph does not have to face the horror of a repeat of that incident! I suppose no drunk Andu this year means he won't shout lines from THE REBIRTH in the pub all evening this time. -Ralph

Last year we walked from New Street to the convention, probably 30 mins. And got a bus back which took longer as there were no buses. The rest of the weekend was spent within about 5 minutes of new street.

I apologised at the time, but that was waaaaaay beyond what I could walk. I shall be busing again but we could turn it into a bus vs walking challenge this time!

Not your fault Phil, the buses should have been every 10 mins not 6 every hour at once!

I thought that would be the only low point...I did not suspect the Pink Energon Incident (PIE) was in my future. -Ralph

At least I did not lead our party on a hideously round about route to get to where we were going unlike certain prior TMUK away trips!

See the first post. 10am New St
11am Convention, Edgebaston Cricket Ground Though *technically* activities on Saturday start a midnight when so people will still be drinking. But not Andu this year. Oh No. He has learnt his lesson. ..... allegedly.

Folks may help themselves to issues.

It is a fine stack of doublers I must say. I picked out half a dozen to replace poor condition copies of some issues. Restraint was required though!

Booked my train ticket for there and back on the Saturday - arrive New Street 9.45am, depart 8.30pm.
I forget, do we buy our tickets for the event in advance or on the door?

You can get them on the door, but iirc there was an advance ticket thing going on.

Mine are getting catalogued as I'm rereading them. Most of them are fine but the odd one here and there needs replacing. Usually issues I didn't have originally for some reason and had to buy second hand.

I too must catalogue at some point. Most of my childhood ones up to around #150 are falling apart.

Andu's favourite comic is Fantastic Force. He only has #1, #2 and #15. We must all be True Friends and help him find the rest at the comic mart.
