Yes Micromasters, oh joy.

Which means that at some upcoming point we will have a fortnight of fear. Every trip into a newsagent or supermarket in that period will be a voyage of terror. You know the forfeit! Whenever we see Micromasters, we have to buy it!

RG1 following the Marvel run makes it even more annoying that it was written to accomodate TFUK.

What am I missing? If this is being published in order, why is Raiders in volume 34?

Post by The Doctor on Jan 4, 2017 21:17:58 GMT
It's issue 34, not volume 34.

It will be interesting when they get there to see if Raiders is presented in the original mix of colour and black and white or if the B&W pages will be coloured to match the rest.

That would look very odd alongside the original colour pages. It would make sense to match it as closely as possible. We'll find out in 34 issues time!

My preference would be the Collected Comics full colour version as it has the most consistent look across it.

#34 - is that going to be v2 or 3? We know v3 is containing #42-44. But we can't guess at this point because we don't know where the annual stuff is going.
Read all Simon's answers so know it v2

So looks like that one is being specially coloured along with the later b&w strips. Very cool (as long as it looks better than the work done in volume 16).

IIRC the last book (in publication order) to have a really notable error was the Spearhead From Space book (cutting out the start of a paragraph about what Derrick Sherwin did next that now makes it look like Spearhead filmed months after the rest of the season). And they were on the decline before that. Thanks for the info. Spearhead was one of the ones I was considering, so I'll give that one a miss. Can't remember if I was also after any of the others before that (think there may have been a 1st Doctor one in there) but if so I'll avoid those for now too. Edit: Actually, Spearhead is way more recent than I realised, and 3 of the 4 I own are earlier releases than that. Hmm... may just get the ones I want and take my chances. I wouldn't be happy at £10 a pop but for fiver each, well, I guess I can live with it as long as there aren't any really horrible errors...

Copies on display in my local WH Smiths - again, separate stand by the entrance. Also spotted a copy in my local newsagent that reserves my 2000ad / JD Megazine / Doctor Who Magazine / Blocks. Really nice to see it in there for nostalgic reasons - they used to reserve my weekly Transformers comic when I was a kid! I think #130 was the first one. First appearance of the Headmasters with the free decoder on the front!

A bit annoying that g2 isnt included, but fingers crossed if the series is successful g2 is used to extend the run. Preferably with a nicely drawn angry bot on the spine art.

I hope it could be a subscriber special at some point down the line.

Wait, they're definitely not doing G2? I assumed Reg being placed after the Marvel series didn't preclude its inclusion as well. That sucks, Reg isn't for me but it's certainly not the worst comic that'll be included and I don't even mind the editorialising to make it look like THE Marvel continuation, but not at the expense of not including G2 at all. That makes me sad.
What is IDW's (who presumably have the say with what Hachette can and can't use) issue with G2 anyway? They didn't reprint it before Reg so it's not them wanting to push their own sequel. The Joe G2 issues have seen the light of day more!
On the flip side, we're better off than the Trek fans are with their partwork. The books are also being released in a random chronological order, but in their case that's also how they go on the shelf (so Countdown is both issue 1 and volume 1), imagine how annoying that would be for Transformers. The older Gold Key comics look like they're being used as make weight in other books as opposed to getting their own volumes as well.

Yes Furman has confirmed it on FB when he was asked questions, I've also asked him about Another Time and Place but have not yet had a reply.
It's annoying - IDW have put out random G2 issues in collections such as The Greatest Battles and the like, but steadfastly refuse to collect G2.

Yes Furman has confirmed it on FB when he was asked questions Now that... that is very naughty. Good opportunity to collect it. Just because it's G2 and the collection is 'definitive' G1? Silly.

Skipping G2 does seem odd, what with it being a direct continuation of what has been retrospectively called 'G1'. By that logic, RG1 shouldn't be in there because it's 'Regeneration One' rather than 'Generation One'.
Glad I kept those Titan G2 books! That series is doomed never again to get a full reprint!
