Makes sense given that there's a pandemic on. Most shops are closed, staff on work, etc.

With Previews UK currently on hold (although that may be changing again soon) I decided to return to subscription (I'm so behind on my reading anyways) and now I have a new entry on my subs page for 10th April. It's only for one book it seems but that might be due to the issue I was re-upping from. Anyway, glad to see my guesstimate of the date was right!

Just picked up #87; haven’t unwrapped it yet, but the back cover says First Strike 0-6, First Strike: Transformers and First Strike: Optimus Prime.

The bonus material is a one-page "Prelude to...Unicron!", preceding the reprint of "The Signal".

I see seven months away from the end of this collection that Hachette have announced they're no longer updating their Facebook page for it. You can guess how well that went down in the comments...

Whu? Why? Why would Hachette do that?

Yeah, that completely sucks. Even if the page was mostly them asking questions they gave the wrong answer to and ignoring "where are my books?" comments.

Whoever proof read the latest issue did a bang up job. Can't spell Whilce or Sara in the cover gallery (Wilce & Sare respectively).

I've said it before, but it's worth repeating - having seen the level of care given to the likes of the Dredd and 2000ad partworks, only makes me more annoyed at the shitty job done by Hachette on this series.

Or even Hachette on their own Doctor Who partwork.

One suspects that Rebellion asserted quality control measures over the Hachette books containing their own IP.

I remember reading, or perhaps it was on the Thrillcast, that the content of the 2000AD hachette books was done in the Nerve Centre? I think the DWM crew did their one too because they were updating and adding to their own articles. I got the feeling the Transformers one is pretty much Furman on his own roping in help where he could.

Furman is just picking and giving them his articles by the sounds of things. He's not actually doing any editing in terms of the copy and production. That shambolic mess is all Hachette.

Yeah I don't think Furman's role is that great perhaps more a figurehead esque role and even the Star Trek Collection has improved allot with its new editor .
Anyway here is the remaining according to Facebook and looks like we are getting new series
89 The Falling Pt.2 85 Optimus Prime #18–25 90 Beast Wars: The Gathering 93 Beast Wars: The Gathering 91 The Everlasting Voices 86 The Transformers: Lost Light #13–18 92 G.I.Joe v Transformers Pt.2 96 93 Crucible 87 Reamining Lost Light 94 Generation 2 Pt. 2 91 Remaining G2 95 Unicron 88 Unicorn 96 Beast Wars: The Ascending 94 Beast Wars: The Ascending 97 G.I.Joe v Transformers Pt.3 97 98 The World in your Eyes 98 Transformers New Era 1 99 The Cracks Beneath Your Feet 99 Transformers New Era 2 100 Constructions Rising 100 Transformers Galaxies

It’s great, I’m really enjoying what Brian’s been doing on the main book and Galaxies is great fun too.” That's surprising. I assumed they'd just chop off at Phase 1 completion, with some 'bonus' stuff to pad out the remainder. I didn't actually think they'd go into the new stuff. That makes the collection abruptly end with an ongoing story-line. And after four years of totally Hachette service I REALLY do not want a continuation from them beyond 100. [EDIT] Dang it. Just noticed no Botcon material at all. Was a remote possibility, to be sure, but a welcome one. And I reckon that last volume will have all six issues of Galaxies so far? Bit thin if just the Constructicons arc.

It won't go past 100, they've said as much on their Facebook. They wouldn't be able to anyway as they'd overtake the new series too quickly.
I'm surprised by that. 3 books from the new era isn't a neat end at all.

Its annoying that the potential Botcon volume hinted by Furman isn't appearing, I can't help but feel that the new era Transformers volumes were tacked on because they may not have been able to use other material i.e three more IDW material.
Still wonder if "The Gift" will make an appearance

Sigh. How very Hachette. Like only doing half the Death's Head and Pendragon stuff in the Marvel collection. Well, at least it'll be done, finally.

Interesting they're going into Ruckley, I'd have expected them to keep an eye on holding that back for a second extension.
Hope the Constructicons Rising book has the Clifffumper two parter as well. Though if they're spreading Beast Wars out over two books when they've done 8 issue trades before...

As I was one of the people who originally brought it up on Facebook, I asked Furman about it on Twitter a while back, but didn't get any response. Doesn't look like Transformers '84 will be in there, either. I'd rather have that than a glorified 3-volume advert for the Ruckley stuff, but there you go.

With the current delays on comics, I dont think there's any way they could have guaranteed that having been out by the time they had to commit to the contents.
If things had vaguely still been on schedule, I think that definitely would have had one of the last slots.
Dont know if the one-shot could slip in there somewhere?

Oh, and a friend on Twitter has come up with the way Hachette can get round the rights issue on the Terminator crossover:

I guess at least if the release order is accurate it makes it very easy to bail on those last three volumes and just buy the IDW hardbacks instead to get the new material in a consistent format.
