I assume Vol 89: The Falling, Part 2 is still due out tomorrow? Yeah, it's out. Smiths have let me know my copy is in, but I won't make it there today to pick it up and confirm contents.

Not yet unfortunately, I haven't come up with any other reasons to head into town so that I can pick it up.

What were the extras, if any? Just picked my copy up from town, along with the last 3 x 2000ads, plus Blocks and JD Megazine. Only extras are a new introduction from Simon plus a Cover Gallery. Interestingly, all the covers get a full page reprint each. Not sure that's ever happened before - there are usually at least some crammed in 4 to a page (prepares to be corrected by someone...). Have to say, really don't like Casey Coller's covers that are reprinted here. I can see what he was trying to do, but they just look messy and cluttered and the outline of the main character doesn't really stand out out enough.

Recieved my latest subscription yesterday in the post and got both Volume 89 and 90: The Falling Part 2 and Beast Wars: The Gathering (this is early right?). The contents of the Beast Wars volume is The Gathering #1-4, the mini comic pack in that came included in the original Beast Wars toy released, material from the Beast Wars: Sourcebook that has a focus on the characters featured in the Gathering, an extensive collection of covers for the series and sketchbook work from Don Figueroa, introductions from Simon Furman and Ben Lee, an interview with Larry DiTillo and a feature focusing on the G1 aspects of the show.
So whilst quite light on comic content, has quite the few extras.

Now *that's* the kind of content I was expecting in every volume, not the bollocks "exclusive art content" which boils down to two sides of thumbnails, or the like. Or worse, the absolute monstrosity that was the quarter-page reprints of the Fleetway G2 comic. Primus wept...

Yep, that's the one. To be a bit more specific of the extras contents, it includes:
-1 page Simon Furman introduction -1 page Ben Yee introduction -2 page 'Unleash the Beast Wars' feature detailing the origins of the show and toyline (with a small picture of the cover to the 1997 Botcon convention comic) -The 4 issue Gathering storyline -3 page 'Creating the BW-Verse' interview with Bob Forward (I was wrong about the interviewee earlier, my bad) -2 page 'The (G1) roots of the Beast Wars' feature detailing the G1 elements in the show -4 page sketchbook of Don Figuero's designs -12 page cover gallery -2 page reprint of the 'Optimus Primal vs Megatron!' comic pack-in with the toys (featuring alligator Megs and bat Primal) -1 page prefacing the included Sourcebook profiles, detailing the inclusions as being more The Gathering focused with more Sourcebook profiles to be included in the following volume -54 pages of Sourcebook profiles

42 people currently trying to flog 'Target: 2006' on eBay, while recent releases such as G2 Part 1 are unobtainable. You'd think the publisher would do second print runs of volumes that would clearly sell well.

I would certainly balk at paying over the odds to complete my collection if I had a sub, but as I'm only buying selectively I can stomach it.
I've got the main Marvel run of volumes 1-20 (thanks to Jaymz), plus 29-30 (War Within - got a soft spot for the artwork), 89 (Marvel G.I. Joe crossovers) and now hopefully 92 (Movie). I'll probably buy G2 if I see it on sale. But that's all.

I've got the Marvel Run, Regeneration One, Last Stand of the Wreckers, 89,90 and 92 - so when they release 91 - the G2 second half I will be done with Hachette.

I would say Hachette have a set number between subscribers and average newsagents orders that they print with a small number that ends up on the store and reprinting more when they have more or less finished with the collection is perhaps unlikely.
The high demand for movie and G2 issues is probably coming from non fans of the collection buying these issues.
I have had allot on order with Forbidden Planet since newsagents closed but concerned that they may not got the issues in

Print runs for more recent issues may also have been reduced due to newsagents being shut.

From a cost point of view, it is cheaper to go to press on existing material than it is for new ones, so I would expect there to be a reprint run at some point for several of the books.

What should I list as the release date for the issue? Would it be Wednesday the 10th? 2. I assume the Sourcebook Profiles are in alphabetical order? If so, who is the first and last included in this volume? Cheers!

1. What should I list as the release date for the issue? Would it be Wednesday the 10th? I think the release dates are normally listed as the 'street' date when it hits shops, that should still be the 17th. I seem to recall there being a few instances of subscribers getting the issues early in the past but the official date has still been the one listed.[/quote]
