Are there two trailers??? The one I saw this morning had different footage. I am confused.

It turns out that yes, there is:
Quite like the look of it. Or at least I'm interested in seeing it as opposed to the Last Jedi trailers where I just thought 'well I guess I'll see it anyway'.

Misunderstood Wookie.... check.
Millennium Falcon flying down something in close quarters pursued by enemy fighters... check.
Think I'll be passing.

I hate to be That Guy On The Internet but the front of the Millenium Falcon does irk me. Looks like a flying cheese wedge.
Young Solo looks like he is struggling. Young Lando looks the part. I'm far more interested in that character anyway!

The difference in the front of the Falcon doesn't really worry me I must admit. My brain looks at it and goes "well, there'll be some reason they got rid of that - probably looking for a bit extra speed or pitch/yaw/roll rate. Or perhaps it isn't actually a part of the ship and it is something that is being carried on the front...
I'm in the "not fussed" category as regards this. It looks ok, some sort of heist/caper movie in space I suspect which will probably be fairly entertaining. But the thing is... I don't need any more stories of a pre-Star Wars Han Solo. The three books by the composite creature Brian Daley were sufficiently entertaining as side-stories, and it isn't a character where there is a real sense of an untold story that cries out to be told. Eh. Put me down as:-
"I have no strong feelings, one way, or, the other."

I'm more optimistic having seen the trailer, but not exactly excited. Han just isn't a very interesting character - he's good as part of the ensemble, but he genuinely doesn't strike as having hidden depths in any of the original films. A young Lando-focussed film would have been more interesting, and as Ralph points out he looks the part (and we know he's a good actor).
The other thing which gets me about these "Star Wars story" films is the music _just_ shying away from the classic themes. It has an almost uncanny-valley effect on me!

I'm looking forward to it. I've always seen Han and Chewie as larger-than-life indestructible swashbuckler types in the same class as Indiana Jones, James Bond, Robin Hood and Jack Sparrow, who suspend the normal rules of plausibility whenever they are on screen. If, as I hope, they play it that way, it'll be a nice counterpoint to the Rogue One cast who were (sadly for them) down the other end of the invulnerability spectrum. Hoping it'll be a devil-may-care action adventure that leaves Imperial stormtroopers scratching their heads, wondering what just happened.

Another trailer is doing the rounds.
Ugh. So it's being marketed as a generic heist caper movie. One of my least favourite type of storylines but...I hope to be pleasantly surprised.

Given that we have at least half a dozen new star wars films in the pipeline I can see specific genres coming in to play to keep them individual. When we reach the musical I will tap out.

While I'm still unconvinced, that trailer looks a LOT more fun than what we've seen so far. Apparently the original directors (the guys who made the LEGO Movie) were fired because they were trying to make it too much like a comedy. But honestly, I think I'd prefer an all-out comedy. We'll see!!

I wouldn't mind a bit of comedy. About as much as there is in the original Star Wars films. No more though. I WANT A SPACE OPERA!

Me too for a Lando film.
Did that recent trailer just show Chewie's wife from Holiday Special!?
