Titan Class combiners are a mistake.
Keep in mind I don't think the concept is a mistake: a box set of a combiner that's an original mold, that costs more than the typical box sets of repaints to justify it.
But forcing them to be titan class size is not working out. They lose CW compatability, and their quality is atrocious.
"A combiner made out of voyagers!" It sounds good, but the price point can't support it, given all the cutbacks they had to pull off.
I'd honestly prefer deluxe sized limbs at standard CW quality, and CW compatability. Maybe knock out the ability to be both types of limbs (bonecrusher doesn't really need to become a leg, and Tantrum doesn't really need to become an arm).
I'd rather pay this kind of money for something smaller that's of better quality.

I maintain that he's still too skinny and... undetailed enough for my liking, and not enough of an improvement upon the original. All things considered, I think I probably agree with Toph.
I also maintain that I'll be drinking at the bar at TFNation and end up with one anyway.

Saw a photo on facebook with this, G1 and 4 3Ps. I honestly dont like any of them that much.
Take away the nostalgia for the original which is mostly to do with not being available over here and the truth is its the least well put together of the G1 combiners. All the 3Ps are the usual over built Transformers on steroids that dont interest me and POTP is well... it's odd. It actually may be my favourite of the bunch, but thats just not saying much.

Predaking has never held the appeal for me of some of the other Combiners, and I do tend to agree that the waist on this one seems disproportionately skinny. I’m also trying to calm down a bit on some of my TF purchases after spending way too much over the last year.
That all said, it makes it easy to play a waiting game on this one. I’ll be interested to see if he makes it over here like Trypticon did, and if so I can see myself cracking if he hits the £100 mark.

Weirdly the waist bothered me less in the silhouette than it does in the other pictures. Possibly its just the angle, and I imagine regardless its one of those things that looks a bigger deal in online photos than it would in person.
Similarly the controversial combiner ports. They're pretty bad looking in the photos, but realistically if I ever get this guy he'll spent 90% of the time combined anyway.

Put 100 fans in a room and there will be 100 different opinions about scale with Transformers toys. There is no way that Hasbro or Takara Tomy can keep everyone happy. An impossible task.
