I don't think anyone's said this is generally available.
We don't know how this will be available, yet. Takara has always numbered series, regardless of exclusivity. And Hasbro's doing the same with Studio Series, even the convention exclusives.

BBTS have the Takara Monkey throne set for $90, not sure how that compares to the SDCC one.

I'm going for the SDCC when it comes up on hasbrotoyshop, but if it sells out before I can, I got the takara one on preorder at BBTS.
I've also done that with the standard Optimal Optimus. All leaders have vanished from my area for months. Only one target stocks them anymore, and I can barely go there anymore. My range has been cut diwn almost exclusively to two walmarts (one very bad, one with moderate luck).
When BBTS finally put up preorders for Hasbro Optimal, it was the same price as the Takara one. So I decided to just preorder the takara as back up, in the growing likelyhood I'll never see one in the wild.

I'm trying to work out how it might be different. I suspect it's either No Throne, No Prime Masters or both. Why would they display the throne, if it didn't have it, though? I mean, yanking it from the package and displaying the basic figure sans throne seems like the way to go, if that were the case. I think displaying the full SDCC package is saying "This is basically what you can expect, with some minor differences" |

The post says the tag reads 'prototype subject to change' so it's probably just a prerelease version. I expect it'll be the same as the US one.
