I've tried watching this again as it's on Netflix. I did not get far once again. Bumblebee is such a dreadful character I could not get through it. Windblade is just dull.

Like all of these series it gets better as it goes on. I can't remember when it started to pick up. Is series 2 on Netflix? The first episode of that as pretty good.

I'll pass. Bumblebee is a show killer in the same way his Animated version was (but in a different way). If a show has a main character I can't stand I just can't watch it.
I shall stick with the Cyberverse toys.

Once Grimlock is introduced in season one, he becomes as prominent as Bee and Windblade. His personality is basically BW Megatron if Megs is nice.
The focus on Bumblebee drops off considerably in season two. He also gets his voice back. Windblade's only used a couple times. The first few episodes don't even really focus on any one character outside of Starscream and Slipstream. Bumblebee, Hotrod, and Cheetor tend to stick together, but we do see some pretty interesting combinations otherwise, like Grimlock and Arcee.

Just watched the first three episodes if series 3. Dialogue is still incredibly simple and stilted but it's just the cameos of characters looking just like they should that keeps me interested. Shockprowl will love the second episode...

I recommend series 3 of this to everyone - the acting and dialogue is still off, but worth it for the constant shifting in settings and of course the wonderful inclusion of obscure characters, such as {Spoiler}Repugnus, a child Cosmos and lots of little Injectors in last nights spisodes. and Meteorfire is pretty much {Spoiler}Steve Irwin!

Battle for Cybertron: Drift's betrayal would have been a lot more meaningful had they not introduced him pretty much in that moment.

I watched episodes 1-5 of season 3 earlier. I haven't seeen Cyberverse before (that I can recall) and spent most of the time saying 'Isn't that...?' or 'I didn't expect them to sound like that!'.
Grimlock's characterisation was unexpected, but the notion of Whirl being nice to others just seems wrong!

I think Grimlock's really clever. How to solve the 'does he or doesn't he have limited speech/thought?' question created by the early comic/cartoon differences. Cyberverse Grimlock is the incredible hulk.

Cyberverse Grimlock is what BW Megatron would be like if he were nice.

Few eps over lunch. I love 3.11 The Scientist. Love the way this riffs off Sunbow season 3. It's weird, I really dig this but have no inclination to buy the toys or get upset that it doesn't do what TF shows usually do. Who would have thought a core cast of Hot Rod, Perceptor, Whirl, Dead End and Clobber (female Lugnut) would be so cool. The Scientist collects Soundwave repaints and moans about not having enough space for them all! Ha! Brilliant!

It's been a great show.
Think it will be a hard act to follow.

I really wish they had the chance to do more with Optimus. I liked this version. They broke away from the super serious absolutely inspirational messiah he's been stuck in since Animated.
This version was a cross between that, Animated, and Beast Wars. I felt like he started to have a unique personality towards the end.
And he was so very very tired. Maybe now he can have a nap.

It's been a great show. Think it will be a hard act to follow. It's just fun. It took that first season to work out what it wanted to be, but season 2/3 are both very entertaining. Lord Gnaw, Fist of the Judge is the best cartoon character ever.

Jump in at the start of Season two. The way the show works, you won't have missed anything and will be caught up in no time.

Nah. With tv shows I always start at episode 1, and then episode 2. If that doesn't grab me, I move on.
