That might be an excuse but it's more to do with the price, surely. When TR figures are discounted they move quite quickly. But £23 a deluxe is taking the piss.
It being around character selection implies that the vast majority of people buying the figures are hardcore fans, which can't be true. The general public tends to recognise Optimus Prime, Megatron, Starscream, Bumblebee, Soundwave and Grimlock. That's it. I've seen people's 'obscure Transformers' lists that include Brawn and Sideswipe. For most people who will be buying toys, the important thing is the price and whether it looks cool. Wheeljack is just as well known as Bulletbike to the man in the street.

The Longevity of wave 3 deluxe & voyager can't have helped. I thought it's 3-2-2-1 composition wouldn't help, and expected Hot Rod to sit, but all have been easy to get with Twinferno sitting the most
We dodged a bullet by all but missing Legends Wave 2 (The 3 mainly black Decepticon tape repaints with only one robot mode) and every wave since then has done OK. Even the anticipated BB mountain has failed to emerge.
Voyagers, w3 aside, and Leaders have been harder to get, Titanmasters non existent beyond w2 which still bewilders me.

Titanmasters non existent beyond w2 which still bewilders me. I imagine because their price point (£7) was too close to the Scout price point (£11?) so what would your average customer go for??

£7 was perhaps asking a bit too much, like many of the RRPs in the line.

I must have missed this revelation in the Toyfair announcements over the weekend: Impactor is a *stinkin' Decepticon*?

Huh.
Not a fan of that head shape, either.

That's ridiculous! Impactor is not a Decepticon!!!
Why he's paired with Mirage anyway?

The connecting themes are in the vote at the top. It's an IDW thing I think.

Only Needlenose and Tracks are IDW. The others are pretty random.

Oh right, so Mirage is $$$ basically because he's a rich playboy in his original bio? That's actually pretty cool.

Erm, yeah.... It'd be good to explore that side of Mirage more. Something I for one have never seen being explored in TF fiction.
What that's got to do with Impactor I don't know.

I took it as the ultra commited to the fight Impactor vs the unsure of the war Mirage. But it does also seem to work as working class vs upper class.
Why Impactor has a con logo I couldn't begin to fathom.

Class war fare as a Transformers vs pack concept is..... well it's something. If true.

I wrote a fan fiction a long time ago on this! It was Mirage clashing with Banzaitron with a sort of old-money vs nouveau-riche-mercenary thing going on. I probably still have it on my old computer... Though I fear digging it out for how terrible it probably is...

Was it Decepti-Kombat? If so it'll probably still be on the Underbase.

Looks like Impactor vs Mirage is running away with it. Also, assuming only one voter per person, then the Impactor votes contain the greatest amount of cheating.
A deluxe Impactor is going to look stupid among your existing toys. Plus if you really wanted Impactor you would have Spartan already.

Ya know, I'd put this in the WfC thread because my conversation was about the WfC line But if Phil wants us to talk about WfC here instead, I'm cool with that.

It's specifically related to the fan vote options so here seems a sensible place for it. Hence the "Fan vote ending today" in the url and title.
I am considering rolling the two threads together.
