Look Ratbat is a grand character in the comic, but that toy was bollocks.
Sort your lives out and change your votes to Steeljaw.

Listen to Andy. He's in charge so he must be right.

I find Steeljaw and Ramhorn too derivative of the Ravage design. I like them, but enjoyed Ratbat more as a toy when I was younger.
I'd still like to see the Steeljaw tampo on the other side, with the sunburst as the mane.

Rampage, Razorclaw and Tantrum have strength 8, the others 7. Razorclaw is the most intelligent (9), Rampage the least (3). Divebomb is the fastest (6), Tantrum the slowest (3). Razorclaw and Tantrum have endurance 9, the others 6 or 7. Razorclaw has rank 8, Divebomb (the second-most-intelligent) 6, the others 5. Razorclaw has courage 10, Rampage and Tantrum 9, Divebomb 8, Headstrong 6. Rampage the gunner has the highest firepower, at 9. Divebomb has the lowest, at 6. The all have skill 6 or 7. So, has anyone here owned a complete set of these? Martin

Divebomb will win because of the comic BUT YOU MUST VOTE RAZORCLAW.

Yes. Early doors I painstakingly built up a near complete collection of these. But all but Divebomb were all plastic. Not sure what that means. I was always amazed at their size. THIS is what a G1 combiner SHOULD be like. This is what Devastator should have been like...
Great team. Great combiner. The uniform colours make them aestheticly appealing. But... I came to realise I wasn't as connected to them as I was to other characters. So I moved them on. No real regret. Happy to have owned them.
Interesting Techspecs rundown. Rampage's function of 'Gunner' has always seemed a bit out of place to me. A wasted opportunity perhaps. 'Hunter' would have been exciting. Or 'Terminator'.
Tantrum's 'Fueler' seems slightly odd. I mean, he can't get fuel to anyone in a hurry, can he?
I love Razorclaw's personality.
They're a good team. The 'Anti-Dinobots'.
I feel I'm going to go Razorclaw as the best. Divebomb was impressive though to. And Rampage (who was in fact a 'Hunter' in my games).

Like the 86 tapes, my first encounter with these was in Transformers UniverseThey look amazing there. Even is they did forget Divebomb's alt mode
I met the toys in the early 90s, having never seen a catalogue pic, and they were a HUGE disappointment

I owned (and still have) these guys - again sent to me from the U.S. back in 1993 from club members. Big plastic bricks - I agree that they were a disappointment after all the build up they got in the comics. But it was nice to have a 'proper' combiner with regular sized toys that actually form a robot that is bigger than the others. They were also silly colours, which added to their preschool toyness. Was this to mimic African art? Anyway, Divebomb was the first I see from the battle scene on the 1986 boxes. I quite liked that he had the eagle head as a robot here - and liked it even more when I saw that his face peered out from inside. He is also the best proportioned robot, so comic appearances aside, he get's my vote.

Never owned them, never held them, never seen them in the flesh. Not sure how to vote really.

I got a G1 set of these in the early 90's for £50, bargain IMO. I now own the 2004 reissue. These are all good, nice figures. My choice for Good Toy is between Divebomb and Razorclaw, I shall ponder.

Razorclaw, but Divebomb is a close second.
I have the correctly coloured 2004 reissue, which I probably haven't got out since about 2004 now that I think about it.

Razorclaw displays his awesome lion head on his chest in robot mode so he wins.

Razorclaw also has tiny brick arms.
His box art is incredibly misleading!

Bugger me, I've still got beast wars toys on the 'to open' pile. Five years is nothing.
