After a lot of thought - going to go with Retrax. All 3 are superb figures in their own ways but Retrax does something unique and clever. He doesn't pull it off 100 percent successfully without sacrifices to his robot mode, but he deserves the vote for the wonderful effort.

Week 193: What is the best Beast Wars Energon Chip Mega ? *TINY* problem doing this with the Crosssell photos this week.... ....Transquito doesn't have one! So I've used a Toyfair catalogue photo of all three together. And, unless I get lucky, I'll be doing the same for the Ultra Combiners next week! Also I think this is a week that falls in the category of "Why Are We Bothering? We *KNOW* the result!"

Also I think this is a week that falls in the category of "Why Are We Bothering? We *KNOW* the result!" Exactly - it's clearly going to be Transquito! Actually it's not that straightforward. I remember seeing these on shelves back in the day, and being impressed by none of them. I don't know why not - there's just something missing about all three. Which I don't quite understand, but here we are. Still, if I had to pick one - which I probably should, since that's the point of this thread - I think I'd have to go with Transquito, since he's got the best colour scheme here.

I'll take a draw for Jetstorm. That's acceptable.
This week is hard though, all three of these are really good. Why does Phil feel this is an open and shut case? Who's the favourite? B'Boom because he has a base mode? Inferno is great but that enormous back end coupled with unsteady legs makes him hard to handle. Transquito just looks fab. I may need to get these three out to compare.

B'boom is a solid toy, but never one that wowed me. Even though the transformation is a lot more intricate than it looks, it still uses the same beast limbs as robot limbs, which is something I find boring.
Inferno is a wonderful character on the show, but the toy is very basic - and the ant mode doesn't work. It would be better if his arms and legs were black - or his insect legs were red.
Transquito feels like it has quite thin plastic and is quite an awkward toy bit I think it gets my vote because (if positioned correctly) the insect mode can look very creepy. Also, proper hands.

Why does Phil feel this is an open and shut case? Inferno. Rotating Bottom Cannon. Enough said.

I have no in-hand experience with any of these, but they each look pretty great in their own way.
Overall though Inferno has the nicest looking design to me, and it's hard not to be influenced by his great show character

B'Boom is released in Beast Wars II as Apache. They are very VERY similar, I would have said IDENTICAL, but I've seen it claimed the hues are different. YMMV, but having Spittor twice in the polls has set a nice precedent so I'm happy voting for the nearly identical BWII versions again when they come up next April/May. Inferno is the only one released in Japan as the same character and in the same colours: we'll be doing his VS pack this coming Monday in the Extra poll. He also has a Botcon 1998 repaint as Antagony which I would LOVE to own. Transquito has a mad Japanese repaint as Bigmos the leader of the BWII Insectrons. ToyFu had one on nthe Livestream which I was going to nab if it made it through the weekend unclaimed!
