True, true. But I find myself these days more and more drawn to the fun in toys rather than the posability. I think I'm turning into Ralph. Heaven help my testicles. Whhh... Why would your testicles be in danger..? If he's turning into Ralph. See tmukhub.proboards.com/post/520542/thread and previous posts in that thread

FP had given up importing by then and A1 sold UK releases. Nick bought an Armada Wheeljack in the UK. Ergo, it had a UK release. -Ralph Not necessarily... There's a few other options yet, like cheapy shop grey imports or even a rogue US case in with the UK stock. I've texted Nick and asked him what he can remember as he's the one who bought the toy. I'd say I don't think images exist of Euro carded Wheeljacks BUT I don't recall off the top of my head how to tell the difference for Armada any more! I probably could tell you what was what if I had multiple images of US and Euro stock in front of me. I know at the time the cases that were showing up nationwide that we expected him to be in were just the first two beasts, Rhinox and Terrorsaur, and Hoist and lots of people were looking for Wheeljack I also know there were some very odd things with Armada distribution - Matt never saw a Scavenger for example while the rest of us saw the left over Scavenger mountains. I saw one Overload and that wasn't in SW London where I normally shop. But it looks like the Voyagers post wave 1 were all solid cased, deluxes were in assortments I would define a UK release as: 'I went into a UK shop and bought one. I didn't buy it in France'. -Ralph

Yeah, but no *ankle tilts*... True, true. But I find myself these days more and more drawn to the fun in toys rather than the posability. I think I'm turning into Ralph. Heaven help my testicles. I could not give two shits about articulation. I like TOYS. We have reached a certain level of madness when new remakes are made to look like they have toy features...but don't. Look: this Legacy toy of a character from the old Cybertron line comes with a cyber planet key...which does fuck all! I'm as well shoving the new cyber planet keys up my arse! At least then I might get rectal bleeding so SOMETHING actually happens!!! No play features on toys? Get tae fuck! "Oh look I can tilt the ankles but can't fire any fucking missiles." BOO FUCKING HOO. -Ralph

A thought: are the Armada toys top of the tree for play features? Has there ever been a point where toys have had more? Now there's a question. It might be the one that is most consistent with play features across all the size classes. G2 had a lot of wacky stuff going on, but was it across everything or just the bigger sizes?

The Armada toys are proper toys with play features as opposed to the Transformable action figures we have now This has set me thinking. I've never defined then and now in those terms but of course that's exactly it. Generations purchases: transform to alt mode and back once then put on a shelf in a cool pose with the rest of the group that figure comes from. Action figures, that's what they are. Hmm. This is quite important really. I can't explain that easily but that's quite mind mangling.

There's several import places in Glasgow, it's likely that's where he got it from - A1Comics, FP FP had given up importing by then and A1 sold UK releases. Nick bought an Armada Wheeljack in the UK. Ergo, it had a UK release. -Ralph I asked Nick where he got Armada Wheeljack from and he says he can't recall ever owning one: However he did have a Micron Legend Rampage with Air Assault Micron, the Japanese giftset version of Wheeljack packed with the Air Assault team.

Last time I looked Supercon Optimus, possibly the least Armada toy in this lot, was strolling it.
But Hoist & Laserbeak are now BOTH just one vote behind!

Umm, no.... In the free time I've had this week the choice has been between opening toys or eating. Close call, but dinner won. That does mean though I've no idea at all what to vote for now.

Pinwig, old chum, old pal, listen to me. Sit here, here, and listen.
Armada Laserbeak is the very epitome of what a 'toy' should be. Play value that transcends age, gender, time, reason, and only emboldens imagination, creativity, joy, love. There is no end to this figure's potential and thirst to entertain.
It's unique, in all the 'brand-ocean' that is The Transformers.
There actually hasn't been a Transformers toy like it; before, or after.
You know what you have to do, Pinwig. You know what you have to do Hubbers. ALL HUBBERS.
All of you, my cyber friends. Change your vote, or vote if have not yet unto voted.
Vote Armada Laserbeak.
Vote for what is special, different, unique, courageous.
Vote now for the kind of figure YOU'VE BEEN YEARNING FOR. A figure from THEN, that you want NOW.
Vote for 'different'.
Vote for FUN.
Vote for TOYS!
VOTE ARMADA LASERBEAK.
(Seriously vote for Armada Laserbeak or my youngest will kill you. I'm not kidding, she'll kill you. She'll hunt you down. She can't be reasoned with, she can't be bargained with, she'll enjoy it if you try to run. She's bloody scary this one, and SHE WILL KILL YOU.)

He's the other one I didn't open. You still have time, Pinwig. YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE TO OPEN HIM!!! One look, just LOOK at the packaging and toy photos there upon will be enough to demonstrate to you the sheer unrivalled wonder that this toy possesses. In fact, don't open him, Pinwig. Keep him pure. Forever. For one day what you possess may become the most sacred of articles that define and demonstrate what fun was during our era of existence.

Repaints: Cyclonus has a Unicron Battles G1 inspired repaint, an Energon repaint and a remould as Buzzsaw in a Galaxy Force 2 pack which was sold individually in the west. Demolishor has a Unicron Battles repaint, but not in the intended G1 inspired colours. He returns in Energon and again in Cybetron where he exchanges his Minicon for a planet key. Sideways has an Energon repaint as Rapid Run Thrust has not one but two Unicron Battles. The fallout from the change made to Demolishor means his intended G1 Thrust repaint was put to one side and he used G1 Dirge's colours. The outcry meant that Hasbro promised to release him in G1 Thrust colours but that version of the toy never made it to the US. He as repainted as Sunstorm in Universe and sold with the Street Action Team's one western repaint. Wheeljack's Micron Legend version had some colour changes made to it. He was intended to be used as Battle in a Box Drench, vs the G1 Smokescreen coloured Hotshot, but that set was unreleased :-( Drench's colours inspire the Shattered Glass Sideswipe made for Botcon. I am convinced the bonnet moulding on this toy, a dramatically defaced Autobot symbol with a small Decepticon symbol, is what stopped it being repainted to death as Autobot Wheeljack, G1 Sideswipe, G1 Sunstreaker and other Lambo variants.

Blurr looks nice but his legs are a bit non articulated. Minus points for the non 5mm hands, surely a must for a toyline with 5mm weapons. And then there's Hoist Odd name reuse, would have been more appropriate on Smokescreen. But *SUPERB* vehicle mode, with rotating cab and remote control extending shovel arm that my learned colleage Mr John Cullen will recall from the Moon Under Water. Fabulous looking robot mode, pretty well articulated even though one of the arms is the shovel arm but somehow that works here. Yes he can't hold 5mm peg weapons but the Minicon hardpoint in his claw lets him use two of the combined weapons and enables him to go Death's Head with Skyblast or Luke Skywalker escaping from the Death Star with Minicon Ransack. I briefly mentioned hands twice last week in connection with the ability to hold 5mm peg weapons which are a feature of the Minicons. The Decepticon Supercons is where it really becomes a problem: Cyclonus: no peg hole in closed fist
Demolishor: no peg hole in open fingers
Sideways: no peg hole in closed fist
Thrust: no hand!!!!!
Wheeljack: 5mm peg hole fists ONE TOY OUT THE FIVE CAN HOLD MINICON WEAPONS!!!! And he's the Autobot defector!

I had Demolishor! Great GREAT blocky fun toy. Ohh, I miss him all of sudden.
I had Thrust too, but didn't like his kibblyness. Armada had some great figures, but also A LOT of strange kibblyness.
ARMADA! I'm getting a bit of nostalgasm! This is where I came back in guys! Nice blocky vehicley Transformers!
Edit: bloody heck, thinking about it, I had Cyclonus and a couple of the Thrusts. I had the red and Dirge coloured ones.
