Is it extraordinarily sentimental 9 year old girl who loves Sunbow Bumblebee friendly? It's perfect. It's basically about a teenage girl's friendship with a yellow Volkswagen. It will make her cry in places, but in an E.T. way. It has been on Freeview. Edit: Not so good for 9 year old girls who love Cliffjumper, mind. Martin Oh no, there can't be any deaths.... I'll leave it a year or two. Been on Freeview? Balderdash, we have Freeview. I'll keep me eye out.

RE: Bumblebee vs Bayverse
Bumblebee was intended as a prequel to TF1, but the decision to reboot instead came about half way through. It was also a much smaller movie, with I believe Bee, Blitz, Shatter, and Dropkick being the only transformers in it. As such those four do share a much stronger similarly to the bayverse design. Dropkick and Shatter being the strongest, with Bee being the weakest.
But the cybertron stuff was added at the 11th hour thanks to an unexpected budget increase, and well after the decision was made to remove it from bayverse. Those designs do not even remotely look Bayish. They look like the classic G1 designs in a real life setting, to me.

Why demand something in return for consenting to watch a genuinely good film?
Now, if I were to say that if Ralph watched Bumblebee, I'd watch the new Fast & Furious film, that would make more sense, because I'd need a positive as compensation for watching something bad.

I really don't see Bumblebee Movie Bumblebee as the same as the other live action incarnations (which I'm not a fan of either) He is so likable.

Different characters, different personalities, and even different origins/backstories.
As a character, he's more like TFP 'Bee, only sweeter.

I saw him much as I see any new James Bond actor, in terms of how different he was to the previous guy.
And Hailee Steinfeld is the Anti-Shia LaBeouf.
Imagine Shia trying to pull off the Unchained Melody scene.

The trailers made it look exactly the same as Movies 1-5 so I didn't bother.
I wouldn't be able to rewatch 1-3 now anyway due to what has come out about what Shia has done to women.

I'll just say it one more time and leave it there - the Bumblebee movie is not like any of the Micheal Bay films. It is the proper Transformers film we should have got in 2007. It made me smile so much when I was watching it and left the cinema in such a good mood.
