Is Prowl in it?

Not sure something less than an hour long deserves to be called a movie. Did it have a theatrical release?

This is pretty common for children's animes. Short theatrically released movie tgat's a bit bigger than a typical episode, that's shown with a specially made short (Pokemon movies), bundled with one or two episodes (BWII), or padded out with clips from the series, making it a painful clipshow episide (Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water) Though sometimes they're shown alone, like the various Digimon movies (three of which were edited together for the western Digimon Movie)

Shockprowl should also watch that great film about transforming robots that stars Peter Cullen and Frank Welker. What was its name again? Ah yes, "Gobots: Battle of the Rocklords".

Cena and the kid trying to crack each other up is the best part.
John Cena is a genuinely funny person

To be fair, a lot of game cutscenes are pretty much Hollywood quality nowadays anyway.

I'd given up on the live action films after the 4th one and haven't watched any of the others, but fancied watching this with my boy when it popped up in my feed at the weekend. What utter drivel. Didn't even like the opening scene (why is Cybertron always so small, why are there only about 20 transformers in total). Human characters were all annoying. Nothing really happened. Bumblebee can't talk again for some reason like that's his only character trait. The plot was non-sensical - don't understand why Earth was so important and why Bumblebee alone had to keep it secret. Don't understand how the Decepticons got there but had to report back using some Big Antenna. Like if they'd filed some reports like good soldiers before going to Earth then the movie doesn't even happen. Can't they just fly back to base? How would they get home if not? So many cliches, Hot Nerd Boy Gets Hot Nerd Girl But Only After Escaping Certain Death and Saving the World. Tough Military Guy Finally Likes The Good Alien But Only After It's Nearly Too Late. Ugh.
Still it's 1000x better than the 2nd-4th Bay movies. And the 80s tracks were good. Was planning on watching Rise of the Beasts next but I think I'll pass.

Wouldn't go that far. However, the praise heaped on it by some sections of fandom was OTT. It was a solid film, I enjoyed it but that's it.
I liked ROTB but I wouldn't go out of my way to watch it again.

Not seen Rise of the Beasts yet, keep intending to rent it of a weekend - but then I realise that there is a next case in Kamen Rider W and I end up in Fuuto City instead of South America.
I thought Bumblebee was fine. It was competent and solid. Was it great...not so much. But it was alright.
