That's the basic story, with a "girl and her monster" framework.

If she's seen and liked Abominable, no reason she wouldn't like Bumblebee.
If this type of story isn't her thing though, then she probably wouldn't.
But if she's turned off of it due to thinking it's more of the same as the other five, that's understandable.
But it has more in common with Abominable than it does the bayverse.
