I hope the extra character we see is the character we want. But how are Hasbro going to make the toy because looking at still images it looks too complex for your "cheapo 1 step we can't be bother to design a toy" toy

Ah! That explains why a big chunk of the picture was cut off. What a mad way to advertise a film!
Now that I have seen the trailer properly I felt indifference. I appear to have lost interest in these films!

THAT'S HOW I ALWAYS IMAGINED LIVE ACTION TRANSFORMERS TO LOOK!!!! that was my first thought but a decade of Bay has probably shifted my expectations more than I realise. I feel like this would have been a huge departure from what I expected back in 2006. Whatver, I like what I see and want to see more of it.

My expectations were more aligned with EJ Su's Infiltration designs. Taking a more practical physical look at how they would function.
To me the idea that the Bay designs were somehow more realistic than the cartoon or comic designs was always complete BS to me (which is the narrative the fans pushed to justify their walking gut exposed skeletons). They always seemed just as wildly unrealistic as the bad old Sunbow drawings. Just in the other direction. So I always expected live action TFs to be more jointed, a bit more piecemeal that we had been accustomed to, in order to work in practical ways. But I also expected them to look like robots formed from their alt modes, as well as robots that were armored for wartime. The Bay designs barely looked like the former (and not at all from AoE on), and never the latter (though AoE did address that)
This to me really is what I had thought we were getting early on. I do think there's ten years of Bay influence involved though- 'Bee's head, and the fender/headlight chest over the hood or roof. But that's not unexpected.

Not too bad a trailer really. I'm liking some of the aesthetic we are seeing - much more of a "delicate moving parts inside where they are protected, but with a smidge of the better elements from the design of the other live-action movies". I actually smiled a little at the use of the dialogue from the first film - maybe this time we will get a real sense of a bond between a girl and her car...
Nice to see that Starscream had a bit of class at picking his alt-modes at some point. Obviously got dropped on his head between these events and those of Transformers...but, then it's Starscream he ain't exactly a master of sartorial grace.
I liked the directors previous film. It'll be interesting to see him work with a live-action cast, and to see what someone else can bring to the mix.
More than anything else, it is nice to have a trailer for one of these that doesn't make me put my head in my hands and make me sigh "Oh, gods..."
Yeah, willing to give this a spin and see how it goes.

It's blindingly obviously Starscream. Yet for some reason I keep seeing it referred to on the interweb as Ramjet!

At the time of my post it was being generally assumed on the Intertubes to be Starscream. Since then an unconfirmed rumor has emerged that a friend of someones friend was at one of the test screenings and they claim that it is identified as Ramjet in dialogue. I therefore retract my previous indentifcatiion. *turns in chair* Vanessa, retag target as Unknown One. Karl

Ramjet could be the code name ie torchwood to try & hide who it was seeing they didn't have a transforming jet on set for filming. Anyone know if Bumblebee had a code name apart from the film having other name for filming?

I believe Hasbro has (stupidly) gone with seinfeld based codenames.

everyone says starscream but it looks more like ramjet , the colour scheme when he transforms in the trailer is G1 ramjet, however we know they aren't as colourful in movies and more robotic os it is probably starscream

Zooming in with my phone, I don't think TFW is right on her alt mode. Either they're mistaken or given the wrong info.
I think she's a small plane.
I can see why someone would think helicopter, or a satellite... those things on her shoulders look like props, but they're too big or thick. The chest does bare a distorted resemblance to a satellite's front end.
But she has a single front landing wheel in her stomach, and that car-like chest also feels a bit like the nose of a single engine plane.
Something feels a bit fishy with Dropkick's ID, too. He's definitely a car, but he doesn't look so straight forward. Like he's an offroad buggy.
