Prowl was on fire blown up from the inside out. He was pretty much a pair of legs by the time he fell to the floor. His remains were also on the Autobot tomb thingy that flew into a sun when it went nova. If Huffer couldn't survive that then I'm sure Prowl couldn't. His toy was also not seen in the shops after this. It's all part of Prowl's plan to make everyone think he's dead so he can get on with business. The dramatic way he 'died' after getting shot once by a laser pistol was highly suspicious. The more people vote 'yes', the more he's chuckling at the way he's fooled you. Martin

Prowl was on fire blown up from the inside out. That is actually quite serious, isn't it. When you put it like that. Not as serious as what the Sweeps did to Ultra Magnus. Martin

Yes but Ultra Magnus got rebuilt. He only got his limbs popped off and you know what ball joints are like. That's not set on fire bad.

Actually, didn't you do a comic about Huffer's death in the movie? I can't find it now! Yeah - one of my favourites. It also explained how Hound & Sunstreaker got back to Moonbase 1 so they could be on the shuttle with Prime. Wasn't it reprinted in a convention 'Zine some time back? I think I was the only one who actually liked the fact that characters died in the Movie. I mean, it was a war! It carried the message that, yes, if people fight, people do get hurt and they do meet their end. (I remember when I had to draw Prowl in James Roberts prelude to Eugenesis 'Liars A-D' I made sure he was always standing below a wall detail that looked like a halo!)

I'll try and find it - also lots of references to 'Every Day Is Like Sunday' - the CG2 Christmas story.

If Transformers routinely died as easily as they appeared to in the Movie (i.e. not just of the one day when special cinema rules apply) then the war would be over in a week because they'd all be dead.
Nearly everyone in the 1984 three-part Sunbow pilot would have been dead before the series proper even got started. Every time someone fired their laser gun, that would be another toy off the shelves.

I'm sure Hauler and Skyfire died off screen as we suddenly stopped seeing them. And all those Starscream coloured Strike planes...

The pilot is one instance where shots finding a target actually did damage. It was after that that it became pew-pew random gunfire and no one being hurt.

Ralph, answer yes or no, did the Sweeps kill Ultra Magnus on Junk in the Movie? You know, when they made him explode? Martin Ultra Magnus is not Prowl. Saying someone else did not die does not bring someone else back to life! -Ralph

Ultra Magnus is not Prowl. Saying someone else did not die does not bring someone else back to life! Double standards! Different rules apply to new toy characters! Martin

The pilot is one instance where shots finding a target actually did damage. It was after that that it became pew-pew random gunfire and no one being hurt. That's a good point - the original pilot (Arrival From Cybertron/MTMTE) was actually very good - the Autobots kept losing to the Decepticons and there were injuries. It was only due to Mirage's treachery that they managed to down the Decepticon shuttle in the end (and even then Megatron survived - ending the story on a dark note). I think we sometimes forget that the series reverted to the usual Saturday morning type formula as of (I think) series 2. People often thin of Sunbow and think of Childs Play or Kremzeek when the original Season one was actually quite good. Anyway, back to Prowl, There was also a lack of Junkions on that shuttle. I also think that Magnus's injuries were...cleaner. He was blown up Lego style - and everyone know that Ultra Magnus is a partsformer anyway.

Does anyone think Hot Rod killed any Autobots who might have been repaired otherwise, when he blew up the shuttle?

Only Brawn, which is why he came back as a Decepticon in S3. He never forgave Hot Rod for killing him when he was still alive.

I worry about Shockprowl's medical career when he thinks people should just get back up after combusting from the inside out.

There is a S3 episode where Brawn is briefly seen (in different colours) as a Decepticon. -Ralph

The more people vote 'yes', the more he's chuckling at the way he's fooled you. Martin AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.... Martin's logic is, as always, flawless, you poor Prowl-Died Fools! 1- It was clearly a gas-burp, no 'on-fire' or 'exploding' was seen. 2- Ultra Magnus was utterly obliterated and then easily and quickly repaired. 3- They all got blasted and damaged regularly in the cartoon and jumped right back up. 4- The 'kill-off' the older characters to 'make way' for newer characters is a silly mindset that has never need to be the case. Old and new can live side by side. 5- As Phil says, Prowl's seen in Headmasters. So there.

5- As Phil says, Prowl's seen in Headmasters. So there. Ah, but Sixth Sense-like, no-one talks to Prowl or notices his existence, thus I postulate that he is in fact a GHOST (the ghost of Alpha Trion also shows up in Headmasters). Thus Prowl being in Headmasters PROVES he is dead

DON'T YOU SEE, EVERYPONY?!?!By believing Prowl died, you're supporting lazy storytelling! The older characters were only 'killed off' as a cheap stunt by the writers! Don't fall for it! YOU'RE BETTER THAN THAT!
