What about Optimus Prime - did he just get better and have a well deserved have a holiday during Unicrons's visit and season 3?

If Prowl doesn't die, how can he come back to life as an Action Master??? So... can we agree that he died in the temporary sense but not the permanent sense? I.e. in the not-really-dead sense? I had been assuming we meant 'kill' and 'dead' in the can't come-back-without-divine-intervention-and-by-divine-I-don't-mean-Primus sense, rather than the temporarily-offline-until-repaired sense. In the Earthforce story 'Flashback' Prowl admits to having died twice at the hands of Starscream, and he also died in that sense when the Ark crashed and when Shrapnel splinter-grenaded him. But is that really what we mean by death? The classic characters in the Movie certainly died in that latter sense. (Unless they were decoys.) Martin |

Although, given the simple or primative construction as implied by his techspecs ("vulnerable to electromagnetic waves") it is possible that once his armour is breached, only minor damage to his internal systems may render him nonfunctional. But he certainly wasn't on fire! Ratchet was fine! He just got blasted up abit! I bet he could've repaired himself so slight was his damage! Ironhide though... well he took a blast pointblank from Megatron, so.... Optimus was killed (lazy story telling), but he came back, as I understand it in the cartoon universe. As a Powermadter, right? I've not seen it. |

And to be honest, other than the awesomeness that is Unicron, I don't really care for The Movie. I've seen bits and bobs of series three, but it looks fairly poor. |

That, young lady, is no way to behave. Do you have the DVDs? I have The Movie, but none of the serieseses after series 2. And I'm sorry, but I just don't like Transformers: The Movie! What's to like?! A complete and unnecessary character switch, the 'apparent' death of Optimus Prime and a bunch of other great older characters (lazy storytelling). I love Ultra Magnus, but they don't do him service in the film. Rodimus Prime sucks ass. The battle at the start has some good bits, and Unicron as a concept is great. But The Movie just... just doesn't deliver. |
