Dunno about over there, but there are about a dozen different lines from a few companies almost exactly like these. Cute animals for girls, gross things for boys, and food things for gender neutral.

They're small, and cheap. One or more per set are blind packed, and each series has common, rare, ultra rare.

It is still possible to feel the contents of these things by estimating their weight. I found a Hobbit and an Aragorn from one of the LotR blind-box things for the conjunx that way. Although it's possible with these ones there won't be the same discrepancies in size.

There's a lot of duplication in those packets, but it must be fixed duplication because of the moulded plastic holding them. Weird. Is the red shell a blind packed 'rare' or something?

I await the Doctor's judgement. Will it be 'I must have them all!!' or will they be consigned to 'die in a fire'?

I have to admit that I see the attraction in these- but blind packs with "ultra rare" items is a major crime for me, in all things meant for kids, not just these.

I am out. Shame- if they were completely free of blind packs I'd probably be in.

I quite like the look of some of these, but still find it hard to imagine how they will be in-hand from the pictures.

Going on experience with my daughter and MLP blind bags she’s generally fine with being surprised, and usually has a few specific wants based on the packed-in leaflet. The MLP packets had subtle embossed codes uniquely identifying the contents, which was great for me as a parent to avoid duplicates and make sure she at least occasionally got a favourite. Those being Hasbro as well maybe the same will apply?

Which are the next step up from the Shopkin type toys.

And yeah, these tend to be somewhat fixed, except for the blindpacked one. The pieces you can see vary a bit on colors, but the molds are set. The blind packed one is always a "rare."

The gimmick with blindpacks and things like this that give you doubles, is that you're supposed to take them to school and trade with friends to get a complete set, not buy every pack you see.
But the jokes on them, I ain't never had anyone to trade anything with when I was growing up!
