And am I the only person who likes T30 Jetfire, despite his flaws (which are many, I will accept)..? Do wait for the translation, don't answer me now - I think I already know. I like it a bit actually. I've had three pass through my homes now - two of my own and one which was middlemanned to a certain other party... :-) I'm not fond of the chrome, and the fact that the front of his head won't stay on through looking at him crosswise is a little disappointing. But he's not badly provided for in terms of articulation. They picked a good alt-mode in the form of the unbuilt navalised ATF (a much less *bleh* looking paper sibling of the F-22) and shorn of all the little weapons he looks good in fighter mode. I do feel he is a bit underarmed mind you. He has a few little guns and those two snub-nosed gunpods. Compared to his cousins from the other side of his line of descent he kind of looks like he forgot to pack his serious guns. Really could have done with some kind of Full-Armour/Assault Weapons upgrade pack... Karl |

Thanks for the pics. Needed a few extra fold out panels I think. There are are just too many gaps in jet mode. Underside is acceptable, but from the side...

I think I've got a flap the wrong way in my pictures. Not that it makes a huge difference, but it does partially cover the gap between the top of the legs and the waist in jet mode when looking from the side.

So I got my Jetfire today. After being wishywashy about it for too long, my preorder got filled.
First, he's not without his flaws, but overall none of those flaws really impact the toy.
He is ultra simplistic, but he doesn't cheat. And it's satisfying to finally have a jet that doesn't cheat after so long.
He's really simple, but at his size and weight, to be much more complex he'd become unstable and unfeasible.
He also made me realize why I'm so turned off by toys that are too Sunbow faithful- he's a really boring design, compaired to all other jetfires. His cockpit and other details being in his stomach is floro dery accurate, but makes him look really weird. It's not the toy's fault. But Classics and CW, both of whom push those details onto the chest, just look proportionally better.
That, combined with his Sunbow Accurate deco, he just looks very boring. He really needs more red and black to make him pop.
And that he does when you add the weird Siege armor! And that's what made it click why designs that are too Sunbow turn me off. I'd honestly thought it was just that I have a low tolorance for the cartoon.
But I put the armor on him and he suddenly feels was more dynamic, and much more visually lively.
I LOVE his hand gimmick, and I hope it's utilized in all hands that are large enough, from here out.
His sculpting is great. It's one of his saving graces... It's exactly what it should be. Enough to make the toy visually interesting (unlike the sunbow MPs), without making it too busy (most everything early Siege). Now it just needs some paint to bring those details out.
Ultimately, I'm really glad I got him. It's rare for me to feel this way on a figure I've waffled on for so long.
I'm happy with him. I've also decided I'm accepting Skyfire as a wholly unique character from Jetfire. That's how I'm justifying him in juxtaposition from classics jetfire.

A silly and hilarious repurpose for Jetfire would be Beast Wars R-Blade.
He somehow survived, never underwent the maximal upgrade so he kept his original size, and now enjoys being a supersized superhero.

I saw one of these at the weekend that had been Reprolabelled, and that certainly helped the figure a lot. Not that figures should need Reprolabelling out of the box, of course, but still...

I passed a Smyths today. They had no Jetskyfires. Virtually no Siege at all. No deluxes, no micros, just a few Shockwaves and leader Optimuseses. And, literally, a million Overlords (at full price). With a smattering of Cyberverse. Very poor.

I was looking for Reflecti.
So, no Siege, but I got myself a 6" Batfleck for a fiver.
