Nice list.
Although you forgot 'Classics' for Jetfire. I'll concede for most people it would be second choice.

Hi Guys,
I'm new here and settling in, so before I start, please nudge me in the right direction if I post in the wrong place. I thought I'd tag on here rather than create a new thread.
I am rebuilding my collection, getting rid of my G1's and commemoratives and replacing them with CHUGs.
I was wondering if you had any thoughts on a good fit when it comes to Soundwave and Arcee as both are on my want list.
Just got my hands on a Takara Unite Combaticons set, so expect a full group shot of all I have when it arrives.
EDIT: I'll throw the Constructicons in there as well, as I have seen multiple good arguments for several versions on the market.
Thanks in advance.

YMMV: The Earthrise/Kingdom might look better, especially with the backpack removed, but is a rubbish toy. Thrilling 30 Generations is a better toy

I appreciate the prompt reply. I'll look into both, and yeah, I saw the Soundwave at Smyths, kicking myself for not picking it up when i was there!

The first generations Arcee (i refuse that stupid "thrilling 30" name. Hasbro deserves a kick in the nuts over that) is a better toy than ER, but not by much. My personal preference is TR Arcee over either.

I do like TR Arcee, but she just doesn't do the 1986 Movie justice enough for me.
Right now, there are a few Arcees kicking about missing the stupidly large car parts to make them whole, and as a result are around the £10 mark. I'm seriously considering getting a junker and Cyberverse Arcee and doing a headswap!

But she's a Headmaster, and thus references the holiest of texts, The Rebirth! Valid Point. And she also is a true transformer in comparison to her other toys....... On a CHUG based side note. I got my hands on a Takara Unite Defensor, and a Combiner Wars Groove. So I want to Swap out the Unite Groove (due to scale of vehicle mode). Anyone got any suggestions? I don’t care for Rook, the figure doesn’t appeal and there is no nostalgia factor either, and I’m not willing to pay the £40 price tag for a figure I don’t care about. I am contemplating CW Wheeljack. I also think with very little Modding, CW Ironhide could become a search and rescue truck. CW Sunstreaker would also make a good Neo-Wheel base (For the Micromaster Die-hards like myself). Also was gonna invest in Springer but can’t decide between Generations Springer and Siege Springer. Generations Springer is a little taller than I would like, but Siege Springers Helicopter Alt Mode looks to much like a car for my liking. What do you guys think?

Well, if you can get your hands on a cheap enough CW Lightsteed, you can swap it in as red alert. Maybe with a bit of customization.

As for Springer, both are A+ figures. Though my preference at this point would be Siege Springer for Springer, and to acquire another version of the first Gen Springer for the mold (gen sandstorm, botcon battletrap, or cloud rodimus)

Both those Springers are top. I would say it comes down to what you want the robot mode to look like. If you want Movie/G1 cartoon style then Siege, but if you like the more slender IDW look, then T30.
Actually, posability is a factor too. Siege is better weighted so his articulation is better. T30's legs aren't so easy to position because they don't have ankle rockers and he can get top heavy.

I think Siege looks better but that T30 is a more fun toy overall.

I prefer the T30 toy, and not just because I prefer IDW 1.0 continuity over pretty much everything else (although it plays a part, to be sure) but because the T30 toy is just not fun in hand. For me, anyway.

I might end up with both Springers to be honest. We will see.......
Further update on my Takara Unite Protectobots. I got a re-tooled CW Wheeljack that's been upgraded to stop him being a brick of white as a place holder, but my final decision is CW Trailbreaker. I will remove the side print with the 'ol Pencil Rubber in a drill routine and place a "SWAT" decal on his doors. Then I get me a Trailbreaker Fig and suitable Protectobot stand in.
Also got myself a Siege Sideswipe and Earthrise Sunstreaker. Haven't decided the fate of my Universe versions yet. I will likely sell them on.

toyhax.com/357-for-comb-warsReprolabels has a bunch of conversion sets for combiner wars. Maybe you may get some ideas from here? I stripped off the Trailbreaker details off mine, did a headswap with Ironhide, and kitted it up with Ironhide labels, to turn it into G2 Ironhide. Then went the Smolder route with the ironhide body now wearing trailbreaker's head.

If I start detailing my bots, it will take me to a whole new level of collecting.... maybe just one or two high detail bots?........... Both Protectobots and Combaticons turned up today. I don't think my kids understood the words that came out of my mouth as I opened them, and it turned into high-pitched squeals at some point as well. I don't understand why I didn't collect CHUG versions earlier. The gaps I still want to fill are Soundwave, Arcee and Springer. If that Generations Warpath turns up on ebay, I want that as well. Warpath wasn't on my list, but dang is that Generations model so good looking!

Sooooo! I picked up a POTP Jazz for less than £10 MISB. Question is, which is a better representation of Jazz?
I have the RTS Jazz, but despite the card he came on being painted, the figure is unpainted making the POTP one more detailed. But the RTS has the "Door Wings". But the POTP one has a sleeker vehicle mode. But the RTS one hides the gun in vehicle mode. But the POTP one has a vehicle mode more fitting of Jazz. But the RTS one has fold out speakers in both vehicle and robot mode. But.... but.... but.....
Help me.......

RtS, easily. It's a better figure all round, and doesn't sacrifice anything for a combiner port.

Just as I was about to settle on POTP Jazz. I think I need to paint RTS Jazz's face to stop it being all black and that might help.

PotP Jazz is horse shit. I'd actually rather mold a piece of horse shit into a representation of a robot than play with that thing that insults the very name and character 'Jazz'.
RTS was a beautiful Jazz, but SS86 all the way for me. And I've just paid the balance on him! Woop!

RTS Jazz was one of the worst toys I have ever bought. POTP was ok but had that MAGA nonsense on it so I couldn't buy it. I am not sure about SS Jazz. Need to see one in person.

I love the RTS mould, one of the best they've made. And yet seeing photos of SS86 Jazz, especially in group shots made me realise just how big an impact the cartoon design of jazz had on me as a kid. I havent watched the cartoon for so long I'd kind of forgotten.
So SS86 Jazz looks like it may be a better Jazz, but that doesnt change the fact the RTS mould is amazing.

I was sorting through some boxes of TF, most bought in the last 5 years, not seen them for a while and I was kind of shocked to realise how many of them have been superceded. All those 30th annivasary TFTM sets. Even TR Octane is feeling a bit redundant after I got the Takara version a few months back. And TR generally. Walmart reissuing better versions of the actual headmasters. So many of the rest already getting far better versions. Titans Returns and Siege, great for Hasbro I guess but as a fan so little of it feels worthwhile.

POTP Jazz makes an alright update of Pretender Jazz if thats something you want in your life.
And its a combiner limb so you can sub it on to a combiner if you want one of the good limb figures in robot mode.
