I have to say if the door wings are an important part of Jazz's look, then track down RTS. If they aren't, then save yourself the effort and money and pick up a SS86. They're both about equally great toys. You're not gonna regret it either way.

RTS is a fantastic figure, really stands the test of time, but in line with the current deluxes he is Ironhide height as opposed to Prowl, which will affect your sensibilities if you're called Shockprowl. Much better than the PotP one. I only got the Ricochet from that mould, which is nice enough, but put it next to RTS and it's awful.

I find with most Deluxe Figures, clever adjusting of the knee joints (Like on Classics Prowl and RTS Jazz), you can shorten them to match the height of the others (like Generations Ironhide and Siege Sideswipe). Just an FYI. I has proof.

ALL!!!(I was being Megatron in Heavy Metal Wars at the end there) NO! VEHICLE SCALE IS IMPORTANT AS WELL! (I was being me typing in all caps!) Wreck-gar. Fine, as he's meant to have Robot mode Rider. Groove. No. He needs to be a smaller like his CW Version. Afterburner. Debateable. His Cybertronian form is fine. His new earth version is a no-no. Found my perfect CHUG Grimlock. Here. Needs a few alterations to his accessories. But otherwise, chuffed to bits!

I knew there was a reason I liked you! I have someone on my side now!
Unless alt mode scale is shown to be meaningless (Minicons and micromasters are intended to be ridiculously tiny. Predacons like Waspinator and Tarantulas are commented on not being actual size), then is important. CW Powerglide looks bonkers next to the aerialbots. ER Cliffjumper is equally ridiculous next to Wheeljack.
I don't ask for everything to be an exact 1:1 scale, but simply that a motorcycle should not be larger than a space shuttle. I also don't mind multiple scales being in play (military vehicles adhering to a different scale set than sportscars. Because Starscream would only ever be commander class and that's silly and overly expensive, too). But an effort should be made to keep a general alt mode scale unless some reason says it doesn't matter for specific cases.

My only exception to this rule would be Blaster and Soundwave. It's transformers law that you HAVE to own these as Cassette players and that the scale does not matter.
Size changing is accepted in Transformers Lore though. I was looking for a small soundwave Alt mode that would fit in the hand of a CHUG Scale, and sate my scaling lusts............

I've always wanted to see a subgroup with the gimmick being 'size-changers' - big vehicles that compact into small robots (Seaspray, Powerglide etc) and big robots that compact down into small things (Megatron, Soundwave etc). Also bigger robots that expand/unfold into absolutely massive hollow vehicles that can hold others (Astrotrain etc). Of course we would never get the amount of difference from the fiction, but would be fun to see. I'm sure if Takara channelled all their wizardry from making cartoon acurate robots from real vehicles into this, something could be done.

Astrotrain in Siege was huge in Robot form. I’m annoyed they didn’t play on that a bit, but when he attacks the ark in Siege, he’s as big as the ark. Then the ark activates and leaves and that was that.
A bit more of a conclusion would have been nice. Can you imagine a Titan Class Astrotrain?!?!
EDIT: At the 10:16ish in the Siege Finale, mark he stomps on a bot and then has seekers fly over him. On second glance, he’s maybe Devastator size, not Ark size.

I really want a Titan Broadside. I mean, really. Facking huge aircraft carrier with a robot that can batter Devastator. This would look awesome with the Aerialbots on top! But the Jet Alt mode would need to be a spaceship! Dont forget about WST Soundwave. This is a valid point. But how easy is he to get hold of as I legit think it would be a good Alt mode scale for CHUG. And to make sure the thread is kept on proper topic (rather than drifting into the dreamland of Titan Class Concepts!), after a google, I couldn't find much other than customs, but can you get CHUG Rainmakers in Jet form rather than Tetra Jet?

The closest official release would be the Botcon 3 pack, but I cant remember if they were specifically rainmakers or just generic background jets from other episodes.

Ah, just checked on tfwiki. They are technically meant to be the rainmakers but officially are not.
Glad thats cleared up.

No hope of obtaining them without parting with a lot of cash then!
Ok, so what is the best CHUG Devastator availible. I managed to get my hands on an MTC Giant Type 61 Devastator as researching them, these looked the best fit, however, seeing the size comparison with the CW Devastator, I'm starting to doubt my decision. The CW Individual Constructicons don't look great in comparison out there, but the combined form of Devastator looks a better size than the others.
What do you guys have?

The Takara unite version is significantly better than Hasbros. Devastators colours work a bit better and the individual bots are all better articulated. Other than Mixmaster I think they are all great.

CW Devs here. The individuals have limited articulation and are very basic, and the combined form is a little wobbly and flimsy- but it's the SIZE of him. He's huge and looks great when posed right. Devastator must be BIG.

Other than Mixmaster I think they are all great. Ahhh! I never even thought about looking at a Takara Unite Version. The MTC one is bang on deluxe size bots and his combined form is the same size as other CW Combiners, and it looks amazing, but.... but it's the SIZE of him. Devastator must be BIG. ^ THIS ^ Devastator is meant to be the most feared combiner. He needs to look like it! I ultimately went with MTC because he checked all the right boxes and considering he's around the £150 - £200 mark and even more from sellers in the UK, I managed to get a UK baed one for £64. Legit 3P MTC as well so I couldn't pass it up.

Just Acid Storm, from the Classics range. They never did the other two.
