The original source of the information is at www.tfw2005.com/boards/posts/19686098/. I can verify the poster in question is very much on the trusted list and has VERY good past form. seibertron not crediting him or the site is slightly poor form and it took a little digging to locate the original source!

And several years later Motormaster's evil scout car will turn up as a transforming toy as a seperate release.

Well, obviously, Doctor. They've got to squeeze us somehow!
I just really hope this new Motormaster is rubbish. Purely for selfish reasons.

Hmm. Not sure I like that idea. Wonder if a proper Breakdown will turn up as a store exclusive down the line, like Quickslinger and Breakneck.

Yes that sounds rubbish. An amalgamation of styles? No no. Different style than G1? Sure, go for it. But an amalgamation of styles in one combiner? Odd.

I think there's a rule somewhere that says Hasbro aren't allowed to get things completely right.

Now a cynical person might suggest that given Hasbros love of repaints and the possibly limited option for this set that we might see this non G1 set first followed by 3 repaints in much more G1 deco and a new mould/Deadend remould Breakdown.

More likely the influences wont be that significant. Purple windows, a chainsaw weapon and some extra paint apps for Motormaster dont sound that major and I'd still expect the eventual Menasor to look pretty animation accurate if thats the point.
Proper G1 Breakdown down the line seems certain either way.

I have no particular love for the attempts that have been made to shoehorn TFP Knockout and Breakdown into G1 stunticon groups. And I have no love for trying to amalgamate TFP and G1 Breakdowns. They share a name and have similar colorschemes (not even terribly close). They are not the alternate universe versions of each other, any more than G1 and Armada Thrust are.

What I like is the implication that in the TF universe there's only ever one person named John per universe.

I'm probably alone in liking this idea. I've been wanting them to move on from Sunbow G1 for ages and... they have. And yet not at the same time. Which I do like. On the other hand, I'm not that fussed about the G1 Stunticons, so I don't mind they've been dealt with like this. I imagine if someone was really hoping for the G1 Stunticons though they'd feel quite differently... Now a cynical person might suggest that given Hasbros love of repaints and the possibly limited option for this set that we might see this non G1 set first followed by 3 repaints in much more G1 deco and a new mould/Deadend remould Breakdown. Also, I think this is pretty guaranteed to happen. After they're all repainted as G1 Autobot cars.

I have a theory:
This set will be repainted into Thunderclash, Flash, Hurricane, Boss and Flame.

That is a very dangerous and expensive theory. For those reasons I hope you're wrong. However... I also want you to be right.

I'll be getting Skids, and maybe Drag Strip depending on how I feel if I see him in person. It's a F1 car, I am fairly helpless in these matters. Drag Strip's got some calves on him, hasn't he. Look at those great chunkers.

Yep, definitely going for an animation-model-accurate, wearing-cars-like-accessories combined mode there. Which is very much not for me, and does make me wonder if anyone's actually ever taken the time to properly look at the animation models through anything other than rose-tinted glasses. But still, there will always be Combiner Wars Menasor.

I do reckon this means that Motormaster is going to have fake cab-front feet then, with just the cab forming the robot if the trailer is a giant robot frame to hang stuff on.

This way of doing it can work, Magic Square Menasor is fantastic. XTB however shows how important weight tolerances are going to be for this approach.
If this works out then might we see a similar Superior? I do hope so.

Hm. I actually like this style of combination and Menasor may be the only one I am interested in.
And Skids.
