*NOW* I think it's more likely to be the Stunticon tfwiki.net/wiki/Breakdown_(G1) now we see Dragstrip and Wildrider listed. I can't see them doing two different Breakdowns in the same year. In turn that appears to confirm the Commander as Motormaster, not Menasor, and insinuate a "1 deluxe Stunticon per wave strategy" ala Studio Series Constructicons. We can very much infer Deadend's presence in the line too.

I think that G2 repaints of the Stunticons are inevitable - they'll want to reuse the molds somehow, and I don't think that Autobot repaints would be the obvious go-to this time given that we've already very recently had perfectly good versions of all the Autobot cars. (That said, this is a line that basically repeated its line-up two years running, with slight mold variations to make "Cybertronian" and "Earth" modes look different, so who knows?) Unless they do something odd like retool Motormaster as Optimus Prime and three of the cars as the Brainmasters to make a new version of Road Caesar just to upset everyone.

I wonder if these are going to keep the CW connector method or do something new. I would think if the trailer is part of Motormaster's torso mode it's going to be a lot heavier. They may need to use a more 3P type approach.

I can't see them doing *better* than the CW connector for a Scramble City swap the limbs type combiner. B utb the connectors make certain dictates about size which I'm wondering might prove difficult.

But I'm wondering if they're thinking something more bespoke to achieve Menasor's Cartoon look, which is basically cars bolted on Motormaster's arms & legs

Yes, if this is toon accurate the cars will just plug into a frame made from Motormaster and his trailer, which is presumably what those six hexagonal sockets are for.

repaint, then I wondered what the Stunticons will also be because if they get repaints too like everything else, presumably those repaints would work as limbs.

Next year looks less exciting than this year, and I said that twelve months ago too.

If they're pulling out obscure G2 characters like Road Rocket, then Dragstrip retooled or repainted as Leadfoot is a possibility.
It may also be Slapdash, even though a retool of Kingdom Mirage makes more sense.

Whatever they do, I'm just glad to have another F1 styled racer that isn't Mirage.

There are a few descriptions of the upcoming Transformers Legacy commander Motormaster toy and we will sum up what we have found online. This is from people who claim they saw the instructions and we recommend you take it with a grain of salt. Here is a summary of the different points written:

It will be a cab and trailer.
Motormaster himself will be the cab.
The Trailer becomes the frame for all the components to attach and combine.
The cars making the arms clip on while the legs are hollow rectangles for the cars to slide into, filling out the holes.
The trailer also becomes a base/turret for Motormaster to use when not combined. This is an homage to the G1 toy where Motormaster himself became a base.
This will not result in something clean/smooth like the G1 character model of Menasor.

If they're doing Laser Prime in black it's not going to be Motormaster!

Wonder what they're doing with the cab robot then. I guess they could get something vaguely like a classic Motormaster model if the front of the torso is within the cab and folds out PMOP-style, and at least then he wouldn't be insanely large (but the feet should still be small fake cab halves!). Would be hugely disappointing if he's another Prime-like robot.

Those rumours definitely concur with what we've seen of Dragstrip. The trailer will have to be pretty substantial to turn into a frame for Menasor, something more intricate than Rodimus' one. I was thinking Motormaster would fold up into a plug in chest piece, kinda like the Evolution leaders from pottop, but I think he'd need to do more than that to get the height right.

This look in the cartoon was unique to Menasor though. I don't know how they'd do others like this. Silverbolt doesn't have enough about him to make a plugin frame. Perhaps this is a one off because Menasor was recognised as a bit weak compared to the other CW figures.
