I'm conflicted about Menasor. On the one hand the combining process is very clever, and he's going to look immense. But on the other hand he is just cars stuck to a skeleton, and the splitting in half of the cars, all beit very clever, seems weird somehow.

Pete's post here came to mind yesterday: There's something of Laser Op's base in Motormaster's base, mainly the central tower with the rest of the base to the sides.

This one looks properly shot down now:

I wouldn't say it's shot down yet.
The only discrepancies are things that were very easy to change after the poster claims he saw them. Dragstrip- Exactly as promised.
Motormaster- NuRiD Motormaster was already in G1 colors, just a different layout (at least the cartoon version). Very easy to change, or even misunderstand
Wildrider- made no claims on the toy's appearance, just that he had a chainsaw. Which it's very easybto change accessories between planning and production.
We've yet to see the other two. But it sounds like Dead End is also a very easy late stage deco change. It's Breakdown that will prove this one to be a lie or not.
Of course, I'm also not saying the guy isn't full of it, either. Just that the evidence isn't conclusive yet.

Stripped the posts from the rumours thread relating to yesterday's reveals and this thread in particular has benefited from a page or so. (I sense I may have to Threadactectomy the Legacy Stunticons) Maybe not. I think this is the most discussed thing in Legacy right now, because there's not really anything else to talk about, and how this is going to work really is a genuine mystery ATM. I think once there's more to talk about and Hasbro shows off Motormaster, then the discussion on the stunticons will probably cool a bit. I'm thinking throw the Stunticons in with the supposed Commander Motormaster which would get it's own thread ANYWAY, so all the Menasor stuff is together I think we called this right pulling the dlx Stunticons out of the main Legacy thread and lumping them here with Commander Motormaster. Yes they combine but unlike CW, which was all combiners, this group feels like a subline in itself. So far they're missing the obvious Energon weapons which the other Legacy toys have.

I really like the new Stunticon team, but do hope that one will be a 4x4 truck because then I won't buy them (CW Menasor is fine for me) and instead wait for the greatest thing Hasbro has ever made to be made from the molds:
Turbomaster combiner.
And then the greatest new TF Legacy toy ever to fight him:
Skyquake!

We can dream... but it'll just be Shattered Glass Stunticons. Or maybe G2. But no repurposes. Not from this Hasbro.
Please, Hasbro - prove me wrong.

it'll just be Shattered Glass Stunticons. Stop saying that! The more you say that the more likely it'll come true! I don't want to be faced with that!

It's alright, if they do do that, it'll be a SDCC exclusive or something.

I think I'd rather see a G2 set. That might be a goer. Much as I love the purple and turquoise SG Autobot colouring, there are limits with this. The Cons are not so good really. Do the Stunts actually have SG colours?

Wouldn't surprise me if the Shattered Glass colours were the G2 ones. Two birds one stone and all that.

It's probably just a phase, but this whole Legacy Menasor has got me looking at the KO reissue Menasor and that in turn has kind of gotten me to regretting selling off my Encore /reissue/whatever the Takara G1 reissues with Dreamwave art were called. All I have left are Encore anime Devastator and Skids...and BBTS Piranaking....
I suddenly miss the simplicity of G1.

Since the legend that is Mark also wants to do Machine Wars, could this be Machine Wars Prime? With a Selects Thunder Clash in the offering? Or maybe vice versa? Exciting times!

I think I figured out exactly how the Menasor arms work.
We've seen that Dragstrip splits in two. But there's a little slot on the underside of his car. You can't split him apart without slipping something into it (like the file of some nail clippers), unlocking the clasping mechanism. So I think while you're transforming Menasor, you plug him into the arm frame, while a tab fits into that slot. You extend the lower arm, which then splits the car in half.
I don't think the toy is ever intended to be split in half otherwise.

Why is Dragstrip always first though? First in Combiner Wars, first here.
....maybe first elsewhere but I haven't done any research on the subject....
(If he was first in the SPECIAL TEAMS sticker book thing I'll loose the very confusion in my mind!)
