It can only be a Dad's Army crossover.

Surely AF can only mean it's an Action Force crossover.

Ninety bucks!
Hey ho. Another one like the JP set where I'll think, hey that looks really good, I'd like that. It's how much? Really? Oh never mind then.
(That said, if XPants can drop from 80 to 20, I'm not writing off the JP set yet)

I think the JP set may have more legs in terms of sales though. There is nostalgia for JP toys for fans of a certain age.

If I remember.

I thought it was a siege remould, but it says 10.5 inches in robot mode so it's much bigger than that. Joe scale as opposed to TF scale. It's not bad looking, although there's a lot of shell on the robot.
Yeah, I could quite go for that. Not out til next year so a Pulse preorder might be in order.

Oh dear oh dear. Robot looks like Megatron is wearing a big black coat.
Easy pass.

That looks bloody awful. Was already disinterested by the concept, but at every single point they chose the option designed to turn me off of it.
Retro style joe No alt mode integration producing the same effect as every single "silver tank" megatron of the last several years
I almost think I'd have been more interested in this had it been a hiss tank reissue in megatron colors, like all other joe crossover TFs. Not that I'd have ever bought one of those.

I'm quite impressed they got enough space in a Transformer to seat a (presumably) 3.75" figure. The HISS mode look but the robot looks rather like Megatron has a set of clip-on armour. Not that there's necessarily anything wrong with that.

Weird they have fully packaged examples but this isn't due for another ten months. They must still be being ultra-conservative on release dates.

Really wasn't expecting it to be a G1 Megatron with Hiss Tank shell kibble bit it's fine as the grey and black go together nicely. What won't look as good is if it were an Autobot with the traditional car parts and details turning into something completely different.

I really like the *idea* of this - afte all, what with all the historic crossovers between the two franchises it's definitely something that I always wanted as a kid. Unfortunately, the execution isn't great. Whilst I understand that there are always going to be some compromises when you need to have an alt-mode that can seat a 3.75" figure turn into a robot that can also contain the smae figure, they could have made some different decisions I'm sure. At the very least have Megatron and the tank share a colour scheme, so that it doesn't look so much like this is G1 Megatron wearing tank bits. But then I guess that was part of the brief - make this as G1-looking as possible, and that was never going to work.
My other problem with this is the price. It's clearly a toy that kids would love to play with, and a play pattern that should be in one of the main lines - but at this price it's not going to be at all accessible. This is what Human Alliance should have become. Well, this and MASK.
Still, it's an interesting idea. I'll probably pick it up if I find it on clearance. And I'm looking forward to seeing what the follow-up Bumblebee figure is going to be...

Weird they have fully packaged examples but this isn't due for another ten months. They must still be being ultra-conservative on release dates. Yeah, they addressed this on the stream, and basically explained that, yes, they're being ultra-conservative in all their shipping dates just because of all of the recent disruptions to the global supply chain. So at least they were being honest about that. And yeah, I did watch the live stream. The comments were the bin fire that you'd be expecting. It tested even the Hasbro account, who gave a very sharp response to one heckler - but then immediately deleted it, the cowards. The biggest thing for me though, and which stopped me from getting too excited about the crossover set, was the timing of it all. I know that they'll have planned the stream for a while now, and that it's just a coincidence, but the timing of holding the stream yesterday against what was going on in the world didn't feel at all ideal. Not that I'm saying we're not going to still need our hobbies as a distraction and an escape, of course, far from it. But it felt a little uncomfortable to me, all the same...

I like this, but share everyone elses issues.
Feel like theres plenty of room to better incorporate the Hiss tank parts which would have maybe made for a less hollow looking robot.
Already wondering if this will be followed up by a G2 repaint. I cant think what else they could use the basic Megatron parts for as it seems it would still be a very expensive Megatron toy with very basic features once stripped of the Joe crossover.

Coo. I'm not especially a Joe fan but something about these figures is pushing all kinds of buttons for me. I'm definitely in for this and Megatron.
