Not sure how I feel about Autobots palling around with a guy called 'Slaughter'

I was just musing looking at the Triple-T, wondering who that would be. Then I remembered Bumblebee's vehicle has no connection to him at all so it could be anyone.

Actually, and equally appropriately, it'll be Grimlock, won't it?

Kup (or Sgt.Kup) would be a good fit.
So yes, probably Optimus or Cheetor.

Given the only matching criteria is that autobots must be joe vehicles while decepticons must be cobra? And all G1 robot likeness will be faux kibble? Yeah, it could be anyone. I don't think they care about matching characters, otherwise Megatron would be with Cobra Commander. So that rules Kup out (also that doesn't match his sunbow portrayal of a war story telling codger grampa with a heart of gold).
This also seems like a smaller one like Bumblebee, rather than a larger one like Megatron. So it's probably unlikely to be Optimus or Grimlock. Hound, Prowl, and Jazz are my best guesses, in that order.

I always thought Cobra Commander would go with Starcream. Then they can do impressions of each other and confuse people they are talking to by saying "He said that, not me etc."

Actually, and equally appropriately, it'll be Grimlock, won't it? I was thinking this line might stick to the Authentics/Evergreen names for more easy recognition of the character, which made me think as this is a grey vehicle Grimlock would fit. But I don't think I'd want that as it isn't an aggressive enough looking vehicle to be Grim. I'd love this line to get a Starscream out of a Sky Striker.

It should just be Leader-1, as an obscure Armada homage.

Yeah, the Authentics/core three reasons is why I'm sticking to my guess that it's Grimlock. Which kinda works with the character he'd be paired with. I look forward however to being surprised.

Opened Megatron. was not expecting Baroness to come in her own packaging.
Thats the first time Ive ever bought and opened a new Joe toy.
Megatrons fun. Glad I didn't pay more, but AMTC can stand behind the guns and Snooy can pilot. As long as the canopy is left open. So Im happy.

Yep, that was what really sold me on the Joe Xover toys - the realisation that they were Action Master compatible. Which is how they should've been marketed in the first place, to be honest. Although it's mildly frustrating that the foot pegs are slightly too large for the holes in the Action Master feet...

Bumblebee AWE striker is a wobbly POS. This is undeniably true. But... I can't help but love this. I'm still trying to pin down why though. I've no real interest in GI Joe, although I did realise while talking on the call last night that I did have an AWE Striker as a kid. Phil tells me they were around 87/88, which ties in with Ancient Relics (Aug 87) and I can only guess that's why. I'd totally forgotten that. I don't think that's the reason though. I don't remember owning any other Action Force stuff at all, possibly not even any figures. Looking at this figure objectively it isn't good. The plastic isn't that great; it isn't quite shampoo bottle level but it isn't Generations either. Most of this is held together by pinned friction joints too, which means where weight is an issue the robot mode struggles to hold up. The hips are pinned, so any attempt to pose the legs means the torso just topples forward (no ankle rockers, so it's limited anyway) and the torso itself is held in place by one peg that keeps the chest down. Move anything too much, that pops out and the upper part of the robot becomes a Michael Bay mess of floppy sprawling pieces. Get it all together though and it does look good from the front. Just don't touch it. Or look round the back, because the roll cage just hangs off him like a child's climbing frame. Unlike the Megatron, this does look like a robot instead of a robot with a vehicle shell. The Bumblebee head only turns, no ball joint, but it is a great head. The articulation generally is on a par with Core class TFs; it is basic and because of all the pins, quite floppy. The transformation is okay, but the upper and lower parts of the robot (front and back of the vehicle) are connected by one of those really long thin pieces of plastic that are just waiting to be broken, like the long spindly bit everyone was worried about in MP Tracks. The good thing is that everything does snap together nicely in vehicle mode. There are lots of little 'fold out on a stalk of plastic and then refold in a different way' bits to the transform that make it feel a bit hairy in places, like stuff will snap off, but once it's all together you have a really solid and detailed GI Joe vehicle. The focus in this toy is definitely in the alt mode. Stick Stalker in and it's impossible not to be impressed to think there is a robot hiding in there too. Is this a £54 set? No. Is it a Warehouse sale £37 set? I'm not sure. The Stalker included is not the 3.75 retro GI Joe figure that sells on card for £14. He looks more simple to me, like this is a straight reissue of the original 80s figure. I'm no expert but it has an o-ring joint and came in a bubble on a card that looks like the 80s original. I've looked, but I can't see a retro line for GI Joe that is reissuing the originals, just a line that is doing SW Vintage style updates in the same scale. This figure is not that. So, say £10 for the Joe? £27 for the robot? That seems fair to me. This is a bigger, chunkier toy than a Voyager and if the joints were tighter it would be a fun toy to play with, as opposed to a Generations style figure to pose. It has more detail and tampos than a Mattel Origins vehicle but is nowhere near as robust. Having said all that I still can't explain why I like this and now need to order the Megatron from Game quickly. Maybe it's the bigger 3.75 inch scale. Maybe it's the thought of yet another small collection to buy and complete. Maybe it's that this really pushes the robot in disguise aspect because the robot provides a proper vehicle for a human. I think mostly it's the interaction with the 3.75 inch figures. There's something about a TF able to take a human solider on his back to man his gun that appeals, and that to me overrides the numerous problems with the figure. It just looks cracking on the desk.

I know full well I am destined to get this and Megs at some point, but not until they are very very cheap (as seems to be the destiny of most X-Over figures).
