Ive got a £5 voucher from collecting Tonkanator and I had to resist grabbing a second Megatron, no idea what I'd do with it, but it seems like the sort of mould that would be fun to customise.

I can't seem to catch a break this week, the number of things that have gone wrong.
I was really looking forward to transforming Megatron into tank mode tonight and spent an age trying to work out why I couldn't, until I realised a pin had been misfired through a hinge on one of the arms that folds round to bring the cockpit halves together. The two parts of the hinge weren't properly aligned when the pin went through so the arm doesn't stay flush against the side of the tank. So no tank mode.
The pin is fired into the plastic, not all the way through, so it's not possible to push it back out. Even if it was, the alignment is off by a couple of millimetres, so it wouldn't be possible to drill a hole in the right place without it just making the wrong hole bigger. Bloody annoying.
I wonder what chance I've got of being able to get a replacement figure from Game.

If they have it in store it shouldnt be an issue.
Buy a replacement in store and return the broken one on the store receipt so you dont have to bother with posting it back. (if you cant just swap it instore)

That's an idea. There are no game stores in easy reach, but I could try a trip out. The closest two are inside sports direct shops, but there is a proper game a short trip down the motorway.

The next TF X Joe release is to be Soundwave as the Thunder Machine! news.tfw2005.com/2023/06/27/transformers-x-gi-joe-collaborative-thunder-machine-soundwave-first-look-488467This is incredibly annoying for me, since I had the original Thunder Machine as a kid, and so I'd be keen to get it again - it's a great, nonsense vehicle. And also I always liked Zartan, and Ravage is a favourite TF, so... how can I not?! When I see the price, that's how I can not. No price listed in that thread, but given that Megatron was one vehicle and one Joe figure and he was £90 a year or so back, this has got to be more. We've got the Soundwave vehicle, TWO Joe figures and a repaint of Masterpiece Ravage... we've got to be looking at at least £120 here, right..? |

If we get a Skystriker Starscream that actually transforms this time I may just explode. The cost may be prohibitive however.
(Although at the time of the 2011 release I was quite tempted...)

You won't. It's Autobot Joes and Decepticon Cobras. Skystriker will be an Autobot, possibly Jetfire if they're brave. Starscream could be a Ratlor, already a TF as CW Viper, or Nightraven. Prime will be a Vamp, just watch. The mould's reuses on both sides come near to matching Prime's frequent repaint characters: Ultra Magnus as Vamp II, Nemesis Prime as Stinger and Toxitron as the Dreadnok Ground Assault 4wd Not 100% sure wyho that mould's final US repaint would be - G2 Grimlock ? www.yojoe.com/vehicles/89/tigersting/ |

Not gonna lie, my Joe knowledge is very limited. And when the 2011 Starscream came with Cobra Commander I had to assume it was a Cobra vehicle, but I guess in hindsight Skystriker mould was just originally a Joe.

I don't think Gigawatt and Ectotron had those discounts; they seemed to go the other way on price. I'm not sure if Maverick was discounted but he was reboxed at a lower price anyway when the film was delayed. Everything else, yes, big discounts.
Bumblebee and Megatron are both available at less than wholesale, not that long after release, so I've also decided to wait for Soundwave to come down in price.

Thanks to Bogatan pointing out Game had HISS Megatron back in stock on the call last week, I now have a second one, which thankfully doesn't have the buggered joint the first one did and does indeed make a splendid tank. So the love affair is back on. Megatron needs more than just the Baroness though; in tank mode he has positions for four GI Joe figures. Interesting, interesting. More ways to spend money. The newer 3.75 certainly look more detailed but there's a rabbit hole there I don't really want to go down. Might be better to stick with the O-Ring ones.

IIRC the O ring figures have the correct gauge of foot peg hole for the X-Over vehicles and the the more articulated ones still have the smaller ones used on the 25th and Movie lines

When they call those "retro" they aren't kidding - very 1960's - 70's vibe from that lot. Early pattern AR-16, an M-60, very "Bazooka" style recoiless rifle... very different from the airsoft rifle aesthetic that a lot of the newer Joe accessories have! Karl |
