The retro 2 packs also have lots of accessories, what's on the card plus an extra bag of kit. Interesting, I hadn't picked up on that. Still, I do prefer the modern figure aesthetic to the 'o-ring' one. Back in G.I. Joe Classified, I have acquired the Crimson Alley Viper. A straight recolour, but so much better looking than the orange release. Martin

It's all original 82 Joe accessories so 60s/70 would be about right EDIT The sub, left photo bottom right, I haven't been able to place the original owner of The mortar in the right-hand picture reminds me of the one Murdock had in the A-Team 4-pack: www.toymania.com/334archives/ateam/murdock.htmMartin

They're probably modelled on the same real life weapon or quite possibly the Galoob A Team one has been KO'd from the 2 year earlier GI Joe Weapon.
It wouldn't be the only time that GI Joe weapons were KO'd DAPOL ICE WARRIOR I'M LOOKING AT YOU!!!!

quite possibly the Galoob A Team one has been KO'd from the 2 year earlier GI Joe Weapon. They named the A-Team 4-pack baddies Cobra, Python, Rattler and Viper, which doesn't sound at all like they were nicking ideas from G.I. Joe. OK, we've gone from TFs to Joe to A-Team. How many of these posts need moving to another thread now? Martin

IIRC the O ring figures have the correct gauge of foot peg hole for the X-Over vehicles and the the more articulated ones still have the smaller ones used on the 25th and Movie lines Ah HA. Thank you for making that decision easy Mr Ayres. We're not at home to mismatched millimetres in this house.

Right. What? How is this Kup? It isn't, NONE of the vehicles have been The connection here is Sgt Slaughter - Sgt Kup The previous TTT's have had wheels in treads, most Joe vehicles bar the MBT & Mauler, and their derivatives, have been like that

Yes, that's true. HISS Megatron's treads are plastic. I get the Sgt/Sgt bit, but.. but.. sigh. Okay. Kup.

Exactly none of that will make up Kup's robot mode

Yes, he'll just be wearing the kibble like a coat - which is a shame, because that could actually work nicely as a new and different form for Kup. I can see why with Soundwave and Megatron that their vehicle modes contributed very little to the robot modes, because Hasbro wanted the robot modes to keep their "classic" looks, but I wouldn't have thought that Kup's robot mode was quite as iconic, at least amongst the general toy-buying public. So they do have a licence to be a little more creative here, I think... although you're right, and they won't be.

I don't know. If you think bumblebee, his robot is made up of a lot of the vehicle and he looks nothing like G1 bee except for the head. His legs are the bonnet so there's no reason that nose can't be Kup's chest.

Right. What? How is this Kup? Actually I can see that one. Assorted greens and greys, wedge shaped vehicle mode. It makes more sense than the previous ones. As an added bonus it may work as whats his name, the version of Kup in the first version of the TFTM script.

Right. What? How is this Kup? It's almost like if Kup's alt mode was backwards with tank treads on the sides.

Really looking forward to this. When it's cheap.
This line really does have killer robot heads. Megatron's is fantastic and this Soundwave looks spot on. Bumblebee is also really good.

Ask yourself "why is that Ravage blue?" Okay. Llama, why is that Ravage blue? Now what..? ... I suppose my guess would be to match Marvel comics printing colours? Or something like that? Although the real answer will be because it's on the same sprue as Soundwave, I'd imagine.

They did? But aye, he's fine. Actually a really nice little toy with a very clever transf- conversion scheme. People are weird.
I see Phil's thinking, but I'm not sure they'd re-use the MP mold for the SS86 toys - mostly because the Gen/SS cassettes are smaller than the MP ones.

If I remember correctly, folks were comparing it unfavourably with the Ravage that came with Hound. I may be misremembering, that's happening a lot lately.
