Checked The Shops for shorts but no avail. Heavy snow is also happening. That's me done for 2023 at #100 then.

Attempt at #101 thwarted when I realised I had forgotten to bring my shorts to Scotland. -Ralph STOP! Have a break. You have completed your mission for the Timelords.

That I understand, I still do the four times a week workout I started in July, but with running you can overdo it.

Agreed, you do need recovery days. The most I have done is 7 on the bounce, last week I did five in a row and was pleased with that.
First run of 2024 is tomorrow, back to 3 and four a week going forward.

2024 Run #2. Only managed just over a mile before I was stopped in my tracks by a sudden sharp pain back of the knee. Hobbled home. Bit tight there. Reckon I've pulled something.
Darn it!

first run of the year - 5k just over 30 mins while on the phone with Broon. Didn't push and went for a slow start, but pace just naturally picks up. Aiming for one tomorrow and Sunday. Then three/four a week going forward.
I forgot my gloves, a poor decision on my part.

Three runs in three days, held up quite well today and did a sub 30 min 5k, despite an unplanned pause for shoelace tying. Tomorrow sees me revert back to 3 a week, Monday - Wednesday and either Friday or Saturday.

5th run of 2024 felt the toughest of the lot due to wind/rain and cold. - entered the Kinross and Loch Leven Half Marathon in May.

No, I do not sit in my sweaty running gear.
Awful run, felt leggy right from the off - 5k done, which is the important thing, while it's nice to do a good time, it's all about getting the k in with these runs.

Today's run is off, too much ice far too treacherous. Walked part of the route, and fine at walking pace, running oh my no, that would be disaster.
Have ordered a set of yak trax so I can run on ice, will be here tomorrow so will go after work tomorrow.

It's been 4 months since I ran and I've got no pain in my heel, so I'm going to test the achilles tendon tomorrow. Afraid to find out how much fitness I've lost.

Only three bits of icy pavement, but they were quite lengthy, but the yaktrax held up, though very noisy and felt odd while wearing.
Sub 30min 5k, no need to stop, forced myself to go slow on 2 and start of 3 to take the sustained uphill at a slower pace.
10k on Saturday.
