It's been 4 months since I ran and I've got no pain in my heel, so I'm going to test the achilles tendon tomorrow. Afraid to find out how much fitness I've lost. My heel knew I typed this as my tendon went again after months of nothing. It's not as bad as last time (I can walk) but pretty annoying. Might have to give up on running and find something more low impact.

2024 Run #5. The ice was gone and it was mild so got 5 miles in this afternoon. Just at the end the wind was whipping up and the rain was coming down. Glad I got one in ahead of forecast coming storm.

2024 Run #6. Had been hoping for a longer run but cut short at 4 miles when the weather turned somewhat!!!

5k, decent time considering weather and one shoelace came loose at 3.k and then entirely untied by 4.4k - still did a 5.14 k for the last one despite holding back a bit. A tad annoying, as looking at it, might have ended up with my fastest time for a 5 this go around.

A few workouts I found on Youtube but not much other than walking. The pain and tightness only lasted a couple of days so I might test it out this weekend.

2024 Run #7. Fuck off with the head lamps! You are running on pavements in a WELL LIT residential area. Visibility is EXCELLENT. All you are is a HAZARD to other users of the pavement as you dazzle and blind them. GTF!!!
You want to use your head lamp? Go running up the fucking hills!!!

I have a head lamp for when I go camping. They're barely useful then, to be fair.

I've got one for going down the garden at night. But I don't blind people with it, just foxes.

Gosh. Imagine a head-belly combo. Oh I have seen them...and immediately been dazzled and accidentally ended up on the road as I can no longer see where I am going. -Ralph

Another 10k, slightly faster than Saturday despite not having eaten or drank enough before I went out. Was light headed a few times and felt my head go all tingly a few times.

Another 5k tonight, good time despite yesterday's efforts.
That's run 12 this year and 17 since I started up again on Xmas Day.

5k this morning, fastest time so far this go around. Felt good, annoyingly some traffic and people walking with their dogs slowed me down a couple of times, as I was close to sub 27 minutes. Still something to aim for, along with getting Local legend status on all the segments of the run.

I am quite happy sticking to bimble speed with no aspirations to go faster. Zero interest in time/personal bests/etc.
Bimbling along at cruising speed with music is what I enjoy.
It's dry so should get out after work!

I'm aiming for a few races, so it's handy - and the 5k is my easy run, so the more I improve in this, the more it bodes well for the longer ones.
I must also be local legend on every segment of my 5k run, for at least 1 day.

2024 Run #9. Lost concentration and ran straight into an overhanging tree branch. Concentration then rapidly returned.

LL on 3 segments out of 8.
