No sign of anything yet this year in TRU.
I will visit mine next week for a look!

This is going to need a really good deco to get me to upgrade. My original sits in the loft, untouched for some time. So I need a very good reason to buy a second version of a large expensive toy I haven't played with for ages. Having said that, I'm glad it's out again.

Having intially gotten excited by this, by the thought of finally owning a Unicron with a proper beard, I'm now wondering whether I actually need to bother. I've got the... er... Energon Unicron. The black one. And I know it's not the classic colours, but I really like them. It looks a lot more sinister.
So do I actually want another Unicron, possibly more movie accurate? I dunno. I guess I'll see what it's like when it appears.

I've got 2 Armada versions, the Energon version and I'm getting this as well. The Eater of Worlds is taking over my house.

I think I'll stick with my original. It's an ace toy, but one's enough.

One of each version in bot mode plus a complete Armada version in planet mode. The 25th Movie version is my favourite deco of it but they're ridiculously overpriced on eBay.

A Unicron to go with my Primus would be nice. The latter is trapped in planet mode as I do not have 4 cyber keys required to transform him!

It's quite disturbing how much my attitudes to paying for toys have changed over the recent years. I was quite happily considering getting that Unicron, when I realised that I never bought the original release because fifty pounds was too much to pay for a toy. And yet...

I was saying to Phil, I would much rather a nice reissue of Primus in red and gold.

It's true. I think the 'little bit more doesn't matter' builds up before you realise. Even recently I was discarding 3P purchases over a hundred quid for being too extravagant, the FT Dinobots were an exception, but now I'm looking at six Constructicons on my desk which all turned up in the space of six weeks.

Whereas my opinion is '£50 was too much to spend for a toy at the time' to 'I can't afford to pay £120 for the same toy'. My wages have went down in the intervening years, not up by that amount!

Not sure if this is the right place to drop this but just noticed A1 posted this on their FB the other day.

For a second I thought I was going to potentially have to be in London 3 weeks in a row to get these. Then I remembered what this years exclusives are.
Phew!

Other non transforming action figures in the same range. Also $22. Me: "Fifteen bucks for a friggin' deluxe is such a flippin' ripoff." Also me: "Dude, this IP theft 3P deluxe equivalent of potentially questionable quality is only $89??? Sold!"

What the actual feck!
TRU still haven't rid themselves of the Classics Prime Evasion Prime 2 packs despite spending most of their time under £30 and never over £40.
If each of those sets get reduced to £60 and it coincides with a 3 for 2 offer they'll still be only just in the current RRP range for that many voyagers and deluxes.

For comparison. Even with the current crappy exchange rate, customs and shipping, Prime and Megatron can be bought from amazon for £81.74.

Beyond sheer greed I'd love to know why they're so much from TRU. There has to be something in the chain of distribution somewhere that puts the price up so much.

Between these and the computron set, they *look* like what I'd expect from american TRUs if you swapped the £ for a $.
Maybe someone saw the american price and thought it was the uk price? Not likely, though.
Think Brexit and the crashing of the pound, has something to do with it?

No, TRU are just clueless with their pricing. What he said. TRU UK don't seem to deal in the collectors market anymore so don't know what they should be charging to attract the people who want to buy these kind of things.

I laughed so hard at those prices that milk came out of my nose. And I wasn't even drinking milk.
