1. The Match-Stick Flame
Top of the list by virtue of being the first. The only way it will not end up at the bottom is if I watch either of the sequels The Match-Stick Flame 2 - Lunada Bay or the soon to be released The Match Stick Flame 3 - Red Mafia.
It's on amazon prime and no words can do this justice. Watch if you dare.

1. The Match-Stick Flame 2. Primal Rage - nothing to do with the game, ape experiment goes awry and a rage virus happens, a Sunset Beach cast member is in it. A strange pony tale, lots of rapey 80's men. A pre-Shakma typhoon appearance is your single moment of joy.
Just after coming home I remembered that we watched Primal Rage, last night before The Match-Stick Flame and the fact I forgot clean about it means rather stunningly The Match-Stick Flame keeps top spot.

1. Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny - a better ending than the Crystal Skull, always better when he is fighting Nazis. The deaging was some of the best I've seen, still a little uncanny valley. 2. The Match-Stick Flame 3. Primal Rage

No, Andu, no. It was a terrible ending for the character. I wanted to shout at the screen. Helena Shaw ruined everything.

I meant in terms of as a final film, and it was nice that Indy gets a happy ending and a third chance at happiness, this time without The Beef.

I didn't mind The Beef at the time but now we know he is a horrible sex offender (he's admitted it) I can't watch anything with him in it.

Tbh I had seen him in a few things and could not understand why he was the next big thing, but he stank up Crystal Skull, which if it had someone other than him as the kid, and didn't have the freezer a-bomb bit at the start would be a significantly less shitty film.

1. One Life - solid performances of a very meaningful story. Obviously some embellishments but largely true as to what happens. And I found it a particular warning to our own situation in Europe today with what has been happening in Ukraine. Hopefully we have learnt some lessons.

Aquaconan and The Something of Something. IMAX was the right way to go with this. I could just enjoy the pretty colours and big sound. It was ok, but I doubt I'll remember much about in a week's time!
And so ends the DCEU.

Not from that iteration.
James Gunn's Superman flick is going to be entirely unrelated, there's a The Batman 2 at some point with Pattinson.
The Peacemaker Series 2 is still allegedly happening, but not much traction of late.

It's a shame they couldn't get it together, but then there's no rule that says successful comic adaptations have to be done the Marvel way. There's some moments of brilliance in the DC canon, might it be better to do self-contained stories or trilogies that don't need to be part of a larger whole?

They tried to copy Marvel but did it too quickly. The best thing about the Black Adam film was they just introduced heroes that had been obviously cutting about for ages and it was no biggie. They probably should have done that, especially as there was clearly a Batman operating before Superman arrived, so therefore Superman isn't the first one.
You could have done a better job of a Superman film, by having him realise he's been hiding away, and nature abhors a vacuum so the other heroes fill the gap. Do a reverse Doomsday/Death of Superman scenario and having Zod lay waste to everyone only for Superman to finally realise his place and smack him down. There's your universe introduced go have fun.
Dear Warner Bros, please give me eleventy million dollars for my idea.

Completely? Nothing more coming?? Nope. Dead as a dodo. The last 4 films were farted out in quick succession in 2023 to clear the decks for a new regime. -Ralph

The Hunger Games 5: The Something and The Something. This is not a series that needed a sequel...but this was fine!
Ferrari: solid performances all round and a good sense of time and place. Just didn't engage me much though.

I watched The Founder last night. Not a new film, but new to me. Fascinating history of how McDonald's came to be through the ruthlessness of a two-bit salesman.
