I'll be seeing the animated Lord of the Rings film. Martin Woah... Who made it 1978?

I'll be seeing the animated Lord of the Rings film. Martin Woah... Who made it 1978? I had erased that one from my memory. Thank you for reminding me of its existence. I'll be seeing the _new_ animated Lord of the Rings film. Martin

The 1978 film is fantastic. So much better than the dull as fuck Peter Jackson efforts.

There was a trailer for this before Paddington 3. An easy pass based on that. I had to turf two old ladies out of our seats on arrival. I was gentle and polite. It was a busy showing and if everyone starts being in the wrong place it will soon go wrong somewhere and with someone it is best not to. Mrs M, however, had to put some teenagers firmly in their place in the toilet after I'm told. As for P3 itself... Very enjoyable film. Not as good as 1 or the superior 2, but still lots of fun. Olivia Coleman is having the time of her life throughout 😆
Probably time to call it a day there though given the full circle that has now been drawn. Plus the kids are clearly no longer being played by actors remotely their on-screen ages any more.
Splendid scene during the end credits.
Those Hubbers who are arachnoidly challenged may struggle with a few moments. But as Mr Brown does, embrace the risk.

I think my problem with most fully animated films produced these days is that they don't attempt to hide that they are computer-generated. I know that almost all animation these days is at least partially computer-aided, but some make an effort to look like they are hand-drawn/painted or stop-motion or live-action, and I can enjoy all of those. I know the Lego movies are produced by computers, but they feel like they _could_ be stop-motion, while films like TMNT: Mutant Mayhem and the new Lord of the Rings feel like they could be hand-painted traditional animation. The only Pixar movie that I enjoyed at least in part was Wall-E, because it felt almost photorealistic. But when the computer-animated humans appeared part-way through the movie they just took me right out of the story and the style just annoyed me from that point on.
I just want computer animation that allows me to make-believe it's not computer animation.
