I enjoyed it, but unlike Nolan films such as Inception and Tenet, I have no confidence in it making more sense if I watched it a couple more times.
Cineworld Cardiff has twenty screenings of Joker 2 scheduled for Friday. The trailer makes it look good and I’ve booked to see it on Superscreen. I never felt like watching the first Joker film, but I have my brother in law’s Blu-ray to watch at some point before Friday.

I enjoyed Joker, but have had absolutely zero urge to rewatch it since and so have little interest in the sequel. I'll probably see it but only because of my unlimited card.

1. The Count of Monte Cristo 2. A Quiet Place: Day One 3. Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes 4. Action Season: Demolition Man 5. Abigail 6. Deadpool & Wolverine 7. Joker: Folie a Deux 8. The Watched 9. Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga 10. Alien: Romulus 11. The Fall Guy 12. Megalopolis 13. Smile 2 14. Beetlejuice Beetlejuice 15. Twisters 16. Fly Me to the Moon 17. Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire
Never mind avoiding spoilers before seeing Spider-Man: No Way Home or Deadpool & Wolverine. Anybody who thinks they might ever see Joker: Folie a Deux should avoid spoilers like the plague. In the case of this film, spoilers really will spoil.
In terms of non-spoiler comments, it's far more watchable than the first Joker, which I saw for the first time yesterday (and did not enjoy). That's no surprise, Folie a Deux is part musical, part courtroom drama, so it's bound to be an easier watch. But it still pulls no punches.
Saw some top notch cosplayers of both lead characters around town on the film's opening day.
Edit: Smile 2 seen 17 Oct. Horrific but very well done.

RETURN OF THE JEDI on the big screen. Sure, it's easily the weakest of the SW films but it's still great fun.
Been a few months since I saw a new film in the cinema though. The release schedule seems to be wall-to-wall re-releases!

At last! A new film! TRANSFORMERS ONE.
Loved it. What a pleasant surprise!
No spoilers but be aware there is a scene after the very end credits.
Steelbook ordered.

Like you, Martin, I am also someone who hates Transformers acting like humans and having human like things on Cybertron millions of years before coming to Earth (one reason I didn't want to read the second IDW series) but I went into TFOne with this in mind and was ready to watch it for what it was and as a result, really enjoyed it. You could also look at it as being translated or just as a simplified human written story of how things could have happened with artistic liberties.

I... guess I will be watching at least one film with 'One' in the title this winter. You don't plan on watching Rogue One again? Possibly. I might watch 'A Quiet Place: Day One' again. Seriously, I've watched a fair chunk of Transformers One on the Interweb now. It's on streaming so it's all over YouTube. I haven't avoided spoilers. I can tell it's a very good animated film that would just annoy me from start to finish if I tried to watch it straight for an hour and a half in the cinema, because of it not making the characters alien or machine-like. If they took the script and dialogue and made it into a cartoon set on a fantasy planet about human miners being manipulated and lied to by a seemingly benevolent overlord who is secretly in league with aliens and is suppressing the humans' magic powers I'd probably enjoy it. If they kept it as Transformers but changed all the dialogue to make them sound more machine-like, removing the human mannerisms, and changed all the aesthetics so they weren't all humanoid in configuration by default and didn't have human faces, hands, etc. before coming to Earth, I'd really enjoy it, but most other people probably wouldn't. If I wasn't at all into TFs I'd think it was fine as it is. It's just the half-way house, with the characters being nominally alien robots on another planet but being written and animated like human cartoon characters that stops me enjoying it. For all the faults of the live-action movies, I do really like the way the robots in them feel alien, and move as if they are big and heavy and made of metal, and have speech that is different from how the (admittedly sometimes very annoying) humans speak, and don't understand much of human society and social interaction. I can't go back to a prequel set on Cybertron that resets them to being so much less alien before they come to Earth. Martin

1. The Boy in the Woods 2. The Crow 30th Anniversary 3. Rite Here Rite Now 4. Mothra Vs. Godzilla 5. Ghidorah, The Three Headed Monster 6. Destroy All Monsters 7. Terror Of Mechagodzilla 8. Transformers One
It's fine. It's a fun little romp. For me, not as good as Bumblebee but more enjoyable than most of the Bay films.

You watched the previous Bay shite!!! Yes, because they were attempting to tell the TF stories I want to see on screen, about giant alien robots in disguise causing hijinks on Earth. I hope TF One is the massive success I'm sure it deserves to be, and they throw a pile of cash at its makers to go on and do a sequel to the prequel along the lines of the stories we got in 1984-5. I'd go and see that in the cinema. Martin

I have never at any point in the previous 7 TF films been convinced the robots were in any way alien or had personalities. They just looked and felt like humans in mo-cap suits.

Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire Venom: TLD turned out to be exactly the kind of film I wanted to see this week. Interesting post-credit sequence. I thought the bartender who was left with a little bit of Venom on his bar in the post-credit sequence to Spider-Man: No Way Home was just a random throwaway character. But now his Venomverse counterpart, played by the same actor but with longer hair to tell him apart, has also been set up to become a host. Whichever universe we look at, this guy is being set up to be the host in a future Venom movie, whether it's one made by Sony or one made by Marvel Studios. Edit: I see the actor did the voice of Wheeljack in Rise of the Beasts. Martin

Heretic was by far the best 'horror' film I have seen in ages. Intelligent, smart, thought provoking and Hugh Grant is just amazing in it. You can't take your eyes off him.
Very good dialogue. Very good sound.
