Well, there was a pandemic. Then started working at home. Then had a bad 2023 with my physical health. Result: put on a lot of weight and it's got to the point that very few clothes fit me now and those that do are very tight.
Increasing exercise and diet changes: week 2! Trying to replicate what I did in my mid-20's when I needed to lose weight. Managed it slow and steady then over an 18-month period. Trying the same approach again. Don't expect to feel any changes for at least a month.
I shall post a weekly update as this will help me stay on target

Back page of DWM each month - waste of space. Infographics are good if they make interpreting necessary data easier, but churning out nonsense in ways that have you scratching your head while working out what the page is trying to say is pointless.

Back page of DWM each month - waste of space. Infographics are good if they make interpreting necessary data easier, I've never encountered an infographic that was actually comprehensible, let alone made anything easier. :-) Karl

Increased exercise aim has not happened yet due to a flare-up of an underlying condition.

Week 4 begins. Bit more energy and did better with exercise last week. Getting used to less snacking at home but cafes remain a danger zone.

Sugar is so addictive, but the craving soon passes. I've found planning 5 small meals a day makes it easy as by the time you start craving food again, it's not long until the next meal/snack and easier to hold out.

It will come. I've been on a slow but steady weigh loss regime since last September and I've lost about 18lb now. When you get to the point you can go down a belt notch it's all worth it.

Week 7. Angry locum GP said I had not been taking the tablets to help solve the wake-up call thing. Had to repeat myself three times that I had. Grrr.
