This has become such a weird series. It's trying to be 1970s crime drama, but George is still plugging away and Jack Warner was 78 when this episode aired!

Michael Sheard as a villain this week! Directed by Vere Lorrimer! I demand a good book on this show! -Ralph Acting very much like he's under Dalek control.

I see we've lost Laudie now too. Shame.
IMDB says he's a guest part in a season five episode of The Brothers and was a 'trousers customer' in Are You Being Served.

This week's episode has the audio/visual qualities of an off-air home video recording...but how? Was this series repeated much later before being mostly wiped?
Argh! If only there was a good reference book!

Watching 'Sounds', which is interesting because I see we've now got a mixture of studio video and location film. Proper BBC drama. Interesting because the first two surviving episodes from this season were both completely location.
The quality of this ep is very clear and the studio footage looks original, as in not restored from a telecine or anything like that. I wonder how it survived.

I'm glad it did. Remarkably, all the surviving episodes so far have been really good. Only 8 left to air on TPTV of the surviving 33 of the 432 made. -Ralph

TARGET.
Loved the way the plot for this kept peeling back more layers. And that undercover special branch disguised themselves by pretending to be workmen in a red and white tent, while Dock Green fuzz went for the French onion seller approach instead.

Made me laugh when Andy was taking the piss out of the special branch workmen while his sidekick was trying to rent a string of onions off a seller who just happened to be randomly cycling by. Nice cameo from a young Floella Benjamin too!
Oingyon! Oingyon!

Watched The Blue Lamp this evening. Nice to see the Dixon origin story. Very similar to the early episodes but with a bigger budget. Plenty of post-war London.
