My copy of Wiped! The story of Doctor Who's missing episodes arrived today. It is a mighty tome indeed. I've skipped fwd in it and am enjoying the tales of recovery. Ah, Richard Molesworth, so it will be well put together. I can see myself picking that up at some point. -Ralph I too can see that entering my possession!

It's tops. I'm reading the earlier part of the book and I finally understand some of the intricacies of the TV system that I didn't previously.
There's some stuff you think "why's he telling us this?" but it later becomes relevant.

I ordered a copy a while back. It's yet to arrive but I look forward to reading it.
I've been watching some Who on Youtube recently - the one's I've never seen. I think there's about 20 serials left on my to view list. Last night was the enjoyable Invasion of the Dinosaurs. The people on the "spaceship" reminded me of that thing on channel 4 a few years back.

A second copy of Wiped, addressed to "Peter Ayres", but with correct address, turned up at my place this morning. I have no recollection of ordering it anywhere other than Amazon. A home for it is being sought as we speak....
Sadly Seeds of Doom didn't

The Target Book is in the reading file. I look forward to it, having enjoyed the DWM articles it is based on from, argh, too many years ago now. Wiped! shall be read first though (when it arrives).

It's a book about the Target novels. Facts, art and loads of info. Really, really good book. Well worth getting.

I was concerned about where that Wiped! book had got to, but on checking the website publication date was the 30th October. So I think I will read the Target book first then as Wiped! probably won't turn up for another week. -Ralph Who did you get it from? Everywhere apart from Telos itself has sold out and Telos is just 2 people sending stuff out and are a little swamped by demand at the mo.

In other news, Wiped! has finally turned up, only two weeks after I paid for it. It is a surprisingly large tome. The Target Book is great though when I checked the indicia the DWM articles it is based on were published an uncomfortable number of years ago. I could swear they came out not that long ago. Where has my life gone? -Ralph Indeed. When were they published so we can all feel old?

Going down well. It boggles my mind there's a market for it. We're talking niche of a niche of a niche here!

So many places have sold out of this! Then Telos have done well in finding a gap in the market for Who books. -Ralph

I am currently reading through Wiped. Now this is a piece of research and a half. Probably of interest to only a handful of folk in the world but it really does succeed at being what it sets out to be - the definite story of Doctor Who's missing episodes, why they were lost and how the recovered ones have been recovered. Genuinely fascinating as far as I am concerned. (It has also made me a little more sanguine about the fact that I am likely to have to wait a considerable time to see Ambassadors of Death materialise on DVD - I remain unhappy at this prospect but I can understand the reasons why a little more now).

It's a brilliant book, and an essential referance tome when writing the blog. I cried when I read the story of returned episodes being torched in 1980!

Yes, there are a lot of things that make one go "Gah! no!". Very absorbing and should put paid to some of the myths that have been floating around over the years too. (It has also convinced me that the chances of us ever seeing anything else of Dalek's Masterplan are as close to zero as makes no odds sadly.).
