I'd largely ignored this (trying to avoid buying randoms so I don't feel bad buying future over-priced ML minibot repaints) but he does look great and the pic with all the movie bots looks particularly fantastic. If I'd know how committed Hasbro was going to be, I might have found a way to collect this series.
There really are a lot of great TF for collectors these days.

I keep waffling on him.
He works better with the way too oversized SS86 Dinobots and Magnus, but like them he's oversized compared to most others.
He looks great on his own, even if a little bland. He's got a much better trailer.
I'd take him in a heartbeat over the MPv3 version he's directly competing with. He looks so much better than that one.
But at the same time, he doesn't really bring anything to the table than ER doesn't do already.
He also looks like a hot mess from the back. That's a very minor nitpick, but it's kinda jarring given how much effort and attention they've been giving to the backs of these figures, recently.
But there's also a touch of FOMO going on with me. Commanders so far have not been resurfacing much. So far only Jetfire has gotten a repaint (not counting Motormaster's very minor redeco in that limited gift set). And isn't he the only one so far to get a reissue?
Rodimus, one and done. Skylynx, one and done. Motormaster, borderline one and done. UM, one and done. Magmatron, one and done. Armada Optimus, one and done.
Several of these have highly desired repaint options.
So, my ideal would be to wait for a repaint I like better. Optimus certainly has some options. But this one is most likely to end up with a straight reissue (seems likely, but not entirely confident), or he'll get a Battle With Megatron retool or a dead repaint. Neither of those I want.
Or an SG redeco (less likely). Also don't want (G1 Sunbow Optimus doesn't wear those colors nearly as well other Optimi).
So I keep waffling. Normally, I'd pass and wait for something better. Because it's Optimus Prime, there will always be another choice.
However, this price point is super expensive, and not well known for offering those alternatives. Combined with this version, the alternatives are likely to be worse.
Currently, I have him preordered at BBTS. But I'm once again leaning towards cancelling.

Commander Armada Prime was reissued recently. That's how I was able to get one.
