I would appreciate folks thoughts as I am considering applying for this job which would be both a big step and very competitive if I do as it tends to have about 15 times the amount of applicants as positions.

Thanks for the channeling guys! I was being tested for a number of digestive disorders and bowel diseases. And, guess what, I have one! Score! It's something called Coeliac Disease, very common, an autoimmune disease which means I will now have to cut all traces of gluten out of my diet for the rest of my life. It's not life-threatening (though can lead to more serious complications if ignored), but it will mean a complete change of life-style and eating habits to put right. More information, if you're interested, go to: www.nhs.uk/Conditions/Coeliac-disease/Pages/Introduction.aspx?url=Pages/What-is-it.aspxAnd one more thing. If there's a lesson here, it's this: if you feel unwell and doesn't go away of its own accord... GO TO THE DOCTOR no matter how stupid/embarrassing/trivial it may feel. Please.

All the best with it, Graham. I imagine some big adjustments will have to be made. Remember, if you need extra help speak to Ratchet. Not First Aid, but Ratchet. First Aid is crap and smells of poo. But more seriously, I hope you get through it and it is helpful that the problem has been identified so further discomfort can be minimised.
A former work colleague had Coeliac Disease and educated me in it. She was able to lead a full and fun lifestyle, I must say.

Glad to hear they know the cause and that you can sort things out in time.

Glad to hear that they have been able to identify a definite cause - it makes it easier to make remedial changes to your life if you know what the cause of symptoms are.
An acquantance of mine when I was younger had Celiac Disease. It didn't seem to impinge terribly much on his lifestyle, other than that he ate slightly diferrent things to the rest of us.

Not doing too great myself with some sort of nasty bug + aching joints thing. I am blaming it on the MacDonalds I ate earlier since I am pretty much detoxed to 'crappy food'. It was a familiy birthday so I went along for the ride.
Graham. All the best with adjusting your diet, you may even take to the change better than you think. Gluten Free alternatives are a lot easier to come by nowadays also. Hope you recover well too.
