Condolences, Chris.
Well this is my first time back online since Saturday night when I was laid low by food poisoning, and by laid low I mean forced to run to the toilet every hour on the hour from midnight to mid-afternoon to pass what felt like a high velocity stream of boiling tar. I'm relieved to say that element has subsided but I've been off work and feel as weak as a kitten. Went with mum to Mass this morning and the fresh air seems to have done some good. Hoping to get to the doctor's tomorrow to see what he/she recommends.
Couldn't eat anything solid on Sunday at all, and even drinking landed me with an hour of painful stomach cramps, gagging and further trips to the loo. Monday was easier but even now I'm too nauseous to eat much (and bizarrely I don't feel hungry) and according to the bathroom scales I've lost half a stone. This brings my current weight to -2lbs, making me essentially lighter than air.
Anyway, it's been a rough couple of days and channelling would be appreciated from those who have anything left to give.

*munch munch*
Visited the Doctor (the medical kind, that is) this morning. He listened to my symptoms and checked my heart & lung function. He said if it had been something like campylobacter which had even more fun symptoms he'd prescribe antibiotics but as I'm over the worst of it already I'm as well letting nature take its course. Meanwhile, it's pie time. If I can just get rid of this dizzy feeling I'll be okay to get back to running around carrying boxes in the busiest toy shop in Scotland tomorrow!

Glad your feeling better Nick.
Chris, sorry to hear about Gizmo. We had a Chinchilla named Gizmo too, lovely little thing he was. I hope Pip is coping.

Chris, I am very sorry to hear that Gizmo didn't make it.
Nick, conversely I am glad to hear that you are on the mend. I'd watch how you go until you are all the way back up to speed though. It sounds like you are probably somewhat overdrawn and the calorie bank at the moment.
