We tend to meet up on Friday's - drinks and banter. Sleep. Reconvene - food, drinks, banter, quiz, nonsense, drinks, bed. Sunday - meet up again and do the same till people go home.

Sounds smashing. Friday to Sunday it'll be for me then.
I hope you don't mind all the questions. It's my first one. I feel awkward and self-conscious.

We shall soon put you at ease, with filthy banter and games, oh and alcohol. You may see Ralph dance if you are really lucky.

Happy to hotel it too this time provided the action remains confined to Glasgow... which I suppose it would if we had a bigger turnout than usual this year.
Because it's quite a long journey on the train from Cardiff, I usually take two days off work and travel on the Friday and Monday so I'm there for two full days. The Scots crew usually oblige me with their wonderful company throughout both the Saturday and the Sunday.

Usually, those who are about on the Friday afternoon gather for drinks and a bit of banter, then disperse to whereever they happen to be accommodated, reconvening at some mutually agreeable time on the Saturday. The Saturday is given over to banter, some more drinks and of course Nick' Quiz of Doom, and possibly the "original flavour" Yomtov factor - complete with timelimit and merciless mocking by the dread competitions originator. The Sunday tends to be a slower day where folks who are still around reconvene, bid farewell to those who are departing for their various transports, and squeeze in a bit more bantering. At least, that is my recollection of Scotcons past.... EDIT: People are typing too fast for me to keep up. Either that or I type far, far too many words.... Kaptain, any chance of berthspace? -Ralph I shall have a quick word with the Sdf-Karlross staff, but I am sure that we can arrange something there Ralph. Karl

Just had a check through my diary and last weekend of November looks good for me. I must have a wee look at flights for that time.

Hotel wise if you are looking for something decent but not too pricey my mate suggests The Premier inn. There are two of them - one on sauchiehall street and the other says George Square but it's actually a little bit up from there.

Scotland is a bit far for me to travel although it might be a place I might visit with the family at some point because I have an uncle who lives in Glenrothes.

I'm afraid that Premier Inns don't agree with me. Going by past experience, anyway.
Besides, if I'm going to sleep in a bed with stains, I'd prefer if they were my own.

Shame, I've kipped in both Premier Inns there in my time and there have been no stain related anecdotes.

Well, now I don't know what to do!
Be warned, though, if I do find any stains, I shall hold you responible!

Why do I feel like we're in an edition of the Jeremy Kyle show?!
Actually, there's some nice looking hotels in Glasgow... I am spoiled for choice!

After speaking with Martin, I'd be interested in going to a future Scotcon event but I wont be able to make the next one due to money restraints.

That's a shame, but fingers crossed you can make it next year.
As it stands I've just initiated the plans for 2010...

Scotcon updates:
The Scotcon fanzine will have a "crossover" theme this year. In addition there may be a titanic comic review by Turn and Burn featuring...well I can't say but it should be comedy gold, or crazed drunken rantings.

I've just been checking up on flights and it looks good so far as they're only about £52 return. I'll be paying my credit card bill this week, so hopefully they'll stay low until then.
I also had a wee look on hotels.com and have found a place on Paisley Streed that's only 29 quid a night. Anyone know much about how far Paisley Street is from where things are going on?

I reckon I'll book my train ticket this week.
Has anyone booked a hotel yet? I'm going to have a look at what's on offer now.
Edit: I reckon I'm going with Jurys Inn, just south of Glasgow Central Station. Three stars, £57.61 a night when booking for 3 nights. Anyone know any reason why I shouldn't?

Forget Jurys Inn! I've just booked 3 nights (Friday 27 to Monday 30 Nov.) at Best Western Glasgow City Hotel on Elmbank Street through Expedia for a grand total £111.33. A very good price for a 3-star hotel in a city centre. I wonder what's wrong with it. But never mind, all booked and paid for now.
I'll buy the train ticket after pay day.

I bet the hotel website failed to mention it backs onto a wild haggis conservation site. You won't get a wink of sleep with the little buggers honking at each other all night.

Apart from the 3-part Unicron poster which Andy T is getting, I'm looking to find a good home for Transformers G2 (UK) #1-5, if anyone attending ScotCon wants to take them off my hands.
