Aha! It seems the Japanese version of Countdown came with the Rescue Patrol. Which explains the box art. Pretty sure they were all in it from near the start, though Galaxy Shuttle rarely transformed to robot mode. Stakeout was definitely in episode 1. Martin

I have one of the warehouse find Sky Garrys, it's nice. Star Convoy original is but a fraction of the price it demanded before the reissue came out, aand the reissue itself is still easy to get hold of. There's a $1600 up for sale atm.. Bloody Galaxy Shuttle though, that goes for outrageous money for what is a fairly crap toy.

Despite having a desk covered in them, Micromasters are still a closed book to me when it comes to names and patrols. I look at them and reckon I can name less than 20%, which annoys me as I know full well back in the day all this info would have just been absorbed. So I spent a bit of time putting names to pictures just so I can get a better handle on what's what. It's also helped while reading Blue's book. However this is still embryonic - it's only 89 and it doesn't have the base pieces in yet. I will continue to expand it as Earthrise moves into 1990 figures. This of course made me start wanting the things we won't get, because Earthrise is moving on to the 1990 patrols. Like one more car mould would have done Tailspin and Detour, Stakeout could be used for Road Hugger and Free Wheeler with a bit of remoulding; another plane mould would have done Tailwind, Hot House and with remoulding Sunrunner; a van mould would do Tote properly and Fixit...
Another couple of waves and we could have seen most of the 89 figures done.

I knew if I posted that here someone would spot a problem! I thought it would be Phil mind you... Fixed & updated link, ta.
I also realise that Ricon is probably not accepted as being a Tote update because the car shape is wrong, but I'm going for what looks remotely right. As with Overair, who is clearly Airwave but has been given the Japanese name to make him an Autobot to suit the pairings in the ten pack.
This has scratched that itch to know which MMs Siege is missing.
Also, this looks much better printed out than on screen because the pictures don't overlap the borders.

I look at them and reckon I can name less than 20%, which annoys me as I know full well back in the day all this info would have just been absorbed. I can list more Micromasters than I can identify by sight. There are lots that I've written quite detailed stories about (e.g. Decepticon Battle Squad) that I would now be unable to pin names to if you showed me pictures of them. I can pin names on all the members of the Air Strike and Off Road Patrols because I owned them at one time, and I can also do the Rescue Patrol since they're all different and fairly obvious. But I cannot tell you which members of the Race Car, Sports Car and Battle Patrols are which except for Roadhandler, Blackjack and Sunrunner. And as for the 1989 Patrols and Squads, forget it. I can list many of them, but not pin them to individual toys. Martin

Boo!
Excitedly picked up the Battle Patrol from the PO this morning. Opened them up to find that although the eBay listing said complete, Sunrunner has no arms. Went back to check the listing and I can see from the photos he indeed has no arms. My fault maybe for not checking the photos properly, but naughty eBayer claiming the figures are complete when one isn't. Aside from that, the figures are in really good condition. But I can't tick that set off the list yet.

WHAT.
Do any Sunrunners have arms?
The seller has offered a partial discount. I was just going to send them back, but they're in pretty good nick otherwise. How likely am I going to be finding an individual Sunrunner as an arm donor?

My Sunrunner has arms, but I'm unsure if he's a replacement for a lost childhood toy.
Nick might be the man to tap on this.

I wouldn't want you to give me your arms anyway, Blue! They're your not arms!
I will seek arms.
I have suffered outrageous fortune, but will take arms against this particular sea of Micromaster related troubles.

Who would fardels bare to grunt and sweat under the weary search for Micromaster arms?! But for the fear of something after Siege. The new figure's born that have already been released the line before, puzzles the will, and rather makes us appreciate those figures we have than to fly to others we know not of...

What the deuce is going on here?!
Overload appears to be so fat he can't even stand in his own transport's attack mode. You have to have the flap down at the back so he can stand behind the handlebars!
That said, he is still better than Roughstuff.
Tomorrow I will open Erector & Flattop.
