Been having a Star Wars day. Last Jedi on Blu-ray this afternoon, then this evening a catch up to watch the final few episodes of Rebels. Rebels has been a fantastic series. It's a real wrench to think there are no more adventures for those characters.

Oh it has a proper end! It finishes with a 45 minute episode that ties up the plot, but in truth all the episodes after the midseason break, the last six or so, run together as one long finale. Right from the first episode there has always been the question of what happens to these characters that they aren't mentioned in ANH, partly fixed by Rogue One but dealt with by the series conclusion well enough.
When you look at the way cartoons are becoming self-contained eleven minute bites of nothing, Rebels is a flagship for what they can be.

Gave the answers that it needed to but left open potential plotlines that will almost certainly be followed up in the next cartoon. |

Hopefully will do the same trick as Clone Wars and fill in the important gaps left by the movies.
And should incorporate Ashoka and the Rebels casts loose ends.

As long as feloni is still behind it I dont care qbout episode length.
besides steven universe has shown that fairly continuity and plot heavy storytelling can work fine in 11 minute chunks.

I have to say, I honestly thought that Resistance would have been about the Rebels crew post Jedi, the way Rebels ended.

Set at the same time period as The Empire Strikes back according to wookiepedia, but I have drunkenly espoused the theory that George Lucas paid to have a young man cut to look like Mark Hamill for that first film.
